44/50 delayed positivity for Oregon

This is our newest unrelenting positivity post.
The state in question is the great state of Oregon.
To all our foreign friends give a shout ask questions send praise. To our Americans do the same.
Ask questions, share stories, make jokes. Just remember not to be a jerk.
Recall the famous phrase my grandma invented “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything that isn’t redemptively funny.”
Stay tuned for 45/50 after this one. Only a few more.
The states are in random order based on my whim at the moment. Today’s whim is remembering I was being lazy on this project and it was nearly done.

Most beautiful state in the union IMO. Granted I haven’t been to Alaska or Hawaii yet but I’ve seen most of the rest. Oregon is stunning, and people really sleep on eastern Oregon as well. It’s different from the lush green coast but the Painted Hills really blew my mind.

Glory hallelujah, Oregonians and Californians worked together to free the waters of the Klamath and welcome the salmon home.

Just visited Oregon for the first time last week and it was just as beautiful as I’d hoped. The coast was incredible, EVERYTHING was in bloom everywhere you looked, and the people were great. Our main stops were stunning but so were our unplanned “pull of the road” stops. Waterfalls, crystal water, magical forest, and Crater Lake?!?! Come on…can I move? 🙏

I miss driving to Oregon to save sales tax on large purchases!

The Franchise Tax Board hated that

One of my favorite places to live was Oregon. In another life, it would probably be the place that I would build a life.
Also, I really miss Winco. I’m not sure if it’s Oregon specific, but it’s where I first found the store and there isn’t really an equivalent where I am now.
MockingbirdRambler@reddit
Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon! I also miss Winco!

Apparently that's just a coincidence and it's "Winning Company." But anyway they're in another couple of western states now.

One of my ancestors arrived in Oregon via the Oregon trail and was one of the first doctors in the area.

Have you been to Michigan yet? If you haven't swing by when you do and I'll throw some meat on the smoker and pour you a glass of mead! I'll make sure you leave with vernors and a pack of kogels.
CupBeEmpty@reddit (OP)
Have been a lot. I take a pass on the mead if I’m back out that way again.

Oregon is beautiful. I loved it.

Every place I visited in Oregon became my favorite place. It’s such a great state. I would move there tomorrow if I could.

The Oregon Duck is such a great mascot. Green is a great color. Portland is known for being a really cool city. Lots of good nature in the state. Good job Oregon!

Born and raised in Portland and I absolutely love it. We have renegade dance parties in the park all summer long here. Huge fun communal bike rides, sometimes of the naked variety. People here are whimsical and kind. I have lived in several other states and traveled the world, but always end up coming back. This is my favorite city in the world.

Crater Lake.
Oregon Country Fair.
Tillamook Cheese Factory.
The Goonies.
Timberline Lodge.
Multnomah Falls.
Bonneville Fish Hatchery.
Yachats.
I don’t feel any of these need any further explanation.

The Oregon Coast is the GOAT. Top-tier road trip, amazing towns and tourist traps. I love that place.
smarmiebastard@reddit
The Oregon coast is my favorite coastline in the US. It’s so beautiful.
brizia@reddit
I agree. I’ve had family who lived on the southern Oregon Coast. Beautiful to visit, but I’d never want to live there.
sircastor@reddit
There are no private beaches in Oregon by state law. So if there’s a beach to walk on you can walk on it! (Though I don’t believe there’s an obligation for anyone to provide you access to any given beach)
MockingbirdRambler@reddit
Don't sleep on the south east corner, high desert, hot springs, sagebrush and ghost towns!
Jordan Valley, Jordan Craters, Mahogany Mountains, Leslie Gulch...

The Evergreen Air and Space Museum is the home of the famous Spruce Goose as well as an SR-71 and a Titan II missile.
Also a former Air Force One jet is now part of the water park on the grounds.

They're the home of Tillamook and that enough is something to celebrate!
