I'm literally in Brazil right now for a business trip. Literally nothing here is that much cheaper than in the US except food and rent. If you want any kind of modern comfort that has to be imported or contains imported components, it's more expensive than in the US because the tariffs here are absurd. It's like 80% on literally everything and everybody is evading taxes, and the taxes goes towards a literal slap in the face because public infrastructure doesn't exist. I saw like five dumpster fires by the side of the large avenues in a single day of driving around Sau Paulo. If you want a basic Toyota Corolla Cross, it's double the price. If you want even a hotel room that has insulation, is built to code and doesn't smell of damp mold, you basically need to check into a five star. If you want clean water, you have to buy bottled. If you want a toilet that doesn't clog when you throw toilet paper into it, you're shit out of luck in the entire country; every time you go into a stall you're breathing in the last guy's shit stained toilet paper in the trashbin.

Oh yeah anywhere you go you have to worry about being violently robbed by some stabbist, and nobody in this country understands the concept of customer service.

Like any shithole developing country, the only people who enjoy living here long-term are losers back home for whom getting food and shelter is considered an achievement. If you have any capability, talent or ambition, there's a reason millions of people try to emigrate out of these places to the first world.
