I almost ruined my whole childhood with what I thought was a great idea at the time. I was in 3rd grade and I thought it would be funny to change all of the sayings on the valentines to something negative. Like, 'Will you not be my Valentine?' or 'I wish you an awful day'. I remember some of the kids being pretty put off, but luckily the sentiment didn't last

I got a “diamond” ring in one of mine back in like 4th grade, card was unsigned. My bestie and I used the class list to mark off names against signed cards to find out the source and she confronted him. Poor guy. Kids are jerks. 😂😂😂

Love this!

People with kids. Do they still do this at school?

Yes. In my kids elementary school and school I worked in they did a Valentine’s Day party. Kids brought valentines for everyone in the class and a decorated box for their valentines to go in. The valentines have evolved into having a sticker, snack or candy. The boxes can get rather elaborate but many reuse their box each year.

No kids here either but curious! I always lovingly included a single piece of gum in each tiny envelope.

I have children. This is still a thing.

There was no other fun quite like mandatory fun!

I think I’ve held almost all of these. I love to see them again!
