How much you guys wanna bet tha6his optic and flashlight are dead and he doesn't know how tho change the batteries?
Natural_Youth_5941@reddit
Which is kind of infuriating I know people here in the states that would happily pay an arm and a leg for one of those. I just hope he cherishes it
umbrqualquerusannet@reddit
Hes going to cherish until it breaks because he has no idea how to take it apart and clean it.
caffpanda@reddit
It's kind of weird that you think that people who spent two decades fighting the US using decades-old Soviet surplus wouldn't know how to maintain a weapon. It's not rocket science.
atomiccheesegod@reddit
Funny you say this, I watch an Afghan police officer shoot another one point blank with a DSHK .50 cal when trying to disassemble it and it had a out of battery discharge, blew most of the fingers off of the Afghan who fired it too.
It’s hard to wrap your head around a culture that shuns genuine education.
umbrqualquerusannet@reddit
I don't think that the Taliban has any reserve part for it.
BallisticRicehat666@reddit
Genuinely if they have to they will just hand make the part lmao, I’ve seen them hand carve and file pieces out of metal and plastic just to replace parts they don’t have. They’re surprisingly clever and resilient, more so than your average American. (This isn’t saying they’re better than us, just that necessity has caused them to gain skills that far surpass your average gun loving person here)
caffpanda@reddit
That's my thinking, especially if we're talking about common wear parts like springs. That's pretty doable to replace without OEM parts.
caffpanda@reddit
Probably not, but it's an HK, he wouldn't have to worry about that for a long time. And even if he did, cannibalizing parts is always an option. If Iran can keep F-14s flying, anything's possible.
Lu1zBeast@reddit
That is not an HK
caffpanda@reddit
Oh right, it's the B&T, then yeah it'll be a bad time haha
om_svd7@reddit
one youtube video and problem solved
umbrqualquerusannet@reddit
You really think he's actually going to try to fix it?
He's just going to throw it away and pick up another gun.
BallisticRicehat666@reddit
Bro it’s clear you don’t know anyone in Afghanistan lmfao- they pride themselves on keeping weapons up and running as long as absolutely possible. I have several friends in Khyber pass and throughout Afghanistan, gunsmithing is a very common and celebrated skill there. They’ll literally shoot guns until the rifling is gone just to swap the barrel and do it all over again.
gggg_4_l@reddit
Do you know him?
umbrqualquerusannet@reddit
Yes his my brother Amir.
Dumb as a rock it's a miracle that he's still alive.
Scrappy1918@reddit
“Dear God,
All I’m asking for is the right to have unrestricted access to the same arms and ammo the my tax dollars paid to arm the Taliban and Ukrainians. In Your Holy name, amen”
BallisticRicehat666@reddit
Go to Afghanistan then dawg, they’re pretty nice people that love visitors and guns
Okhlahoma_Beat-Down@reddit
There is a reason embassies do not recommend visiting Afghanistan. Even if you're about to bring up Lord Miles, he mentioned needing to hire armed security because random groups living in Kabul would literally just try and grab you for being white / foreign and hold you for ransom.
Or, since the Islamic State still has active cells in the area, just killing you.
It's not worth it. Just wait until the gun parts they sell to China wind up being copied and sold at SHOT Show.
BallisticRicehat666@reddit
I mean we did attack them for over two decades, you really expect nato countries to recommend you go there? I’ve known tons of Americans to go there with no guards and had an absolute blast. Biggest thing is not only getting permission from the govt but also keeping them up to date on your stay and they’ll guide/shadow you around. I have several friends that live in Khyber pass and they absolutely adore when Americans come to visit, especially when they bring snacks or smokes from the states that they can’t get there. I can show you dozens of pics and vids of Americans just hanging out with the locals being treated like celebrities just for respecting the culture and sharing some of their own. The dangers of Afghanistan have been grossly overdramatized and I’d honestly say you’re safer there as an American than in certain parts of Mexico.
Nerdenator@reddit
This is way better than women having basic rights.
(this is sarcasm, if it isn't clear)
HandleShoddy@reddit
Is it just me or do the Taliban tend to post untypically good looking young men in their propaganda pictures a lot?
FaceJP24@reddit
Afghanistan has an average age of 17 years old.
VersedFlame@reddit
Just like Israel with their IDF girls, right?
HandleShoddy@reddit
Or the Ukrainians with their military girls.
om_svd7@reddit
There army sure started adobting every single piece of gear they could get there hands on
ShiftyLookinCow7@reddit
Uh yeah? Way better than leaving all the shit outside for Israel to bomb like the idiotic new Syrian government
om_svd7@reddit
I never said that was a bad thing its good thing that they did not waste any gear they could get
ShiftyLookinCow7@reddit
Yeah I don't know what some other people were expecting them to do
