Why are people losing their minds over these new Peterbilt U hauls
They are barely larger than the F650’s, and they have significantly better frontal visibility. They will still have a gas engine, so they aren’t exactly power mongers. It seems like something of a nothing burger. Nothing has changed. They have had trucks like this for as long as they have been in operation.

Are people losing their minds in a good way because this is an upgrade or bad way in that people hate these new Peterbilts?

your missing the most important part. it has the 1st ever cummins gas engine. this engine puts down 200 more ftlbs of torque vs the f650. this is going to perform much better than a traditional gas engine.

Bro do you think most people have driven an f450 let alone a f650? Have you never been in a college town during move in or out time and watched the absolute carnage and destruction of people who never owned anything bigger than a Prius drive even a medium sized u haul?

I am not saying it’s good or bad, I am just saying nothing has really changed. As far as I know these Peterbilts are just replacing the old F650’s.

it has the 1st ever cummins gas engine. 200ftlbs more torque than the f650 gas. this will perform much more like a diesel engine.

It's now 29 feet instead of 26. Every inch bigger makes it more dangerous to the public.

Meh, I drove a 26' with a car trailer at 19 700km through major cities. It was a breeze.

So are you saying you're below average intelligence or skill and therefor everyone can? Or above it and not realizing how low the bar is for most folks?

Ha, I live in a college town and get regular calls “don’t want to drive the U-Haul for us?”

Why not go back to the international chassis with the manual transmission?? Will these still be classed as JHs or will there be another designation?

Why manual? That would probably lead to even more accidents.

Was kidding ... if memory serves, the JH's with the International chassis (back in the 90s) could only be found with a manual transmission. Spent lots of time tooling around in those things ... but, I agree, most people couldn't handle that today (and U-Haul would likely have trouble trying to rent manuals out).
