It’s literally not the people it’s the fucking cars. The cities of a million people have buses and trains and bike lanes, it’s the medium sized towns that make everybody drive
Right....density is the reason you're looking for. If more and more people move into an area, it puts more strain on the transit system. Whatever that system is. Cars, trains, buses, whatever it may be it puts pressure.
For trains and busses, this has a secondary affect. Sure, packed roads are annoying because of traffic. But if the traffic increases, which it does no matter what if the population density also increases, the difference is more people have to spend time on the bus/train with more and more other people. If you're in a car, that only manifests in congested roadways, NOT a less pleasent personal commute inside the confines of that transportation.
The worse those shared transportation conditions get, the less people use public transportation and use more cars. Less people, less congested buses, more people take the buses. Really, really basic social consciousness here, my guy.
I kinda figured that high population magnitude implied high density since that’s how pretty much every city that’s not a fucked up southwestern hellscape works.
So....you congest the sidewalks. Bro c'mon now. Give me an actual reason more people crammed into a smaller area doesn't equal worse public transport. Just say you hate trees my guy.
It is freedom. The freedom to go wherever you want whenever you want.
Poors without cars can enjoy wasting their days say at bus stops while they type "money doesn't buy happiness" on the frugal subreddit with their ten year old android phone through the cracks in the screen.
Nah, yeah I just meant the streets everywhere you go would be covered in horse shit so the smell would be as pervasive as the noise from cars is. That is to say, it’s only annoying if you think about it because the rest of the time you don’t notice.
(according to Google maps but I've gone about halfway at the same pace) I can bike from my house in the suburbs to the CBD in an hour from 13 miles away
*get out on one of a few predetermined places within the confines of a specific location.
I’m not against public transportation, I think its better for certain situations, but it has limitations. It only goes to pre defined places which are sometimes very far apart, you can only carry so much when you use one, they only come at specific times, and if you want to travel outside your cities network you’re kinda boned.

Anti car people cannot stop thinking about cars.
Trevski@reddit
Cause I literally never don’t hear them. 24/7 car noise.
flyboyy513@reddit
Ya know how you get rid of it? Don't live in the city with a million other people. Live ruraly, less cars less people.
Except you need a car to get there KEK go look at those dumbass small trees in your city, nerd. I like my big, real ones out here.

Right population density has absolutely nothing to do with it. In other news, water doesn't have any affect on fire. More at 11.
Trevski@reddit
I didn’t say anything about population density, just population magnitude and the effect on transit amenities.
flyboyy513@reddit

If someone was seething against horses in 1826, I would just assume they were too poor to buy a horse, and were jealous of those who weren’t.
Trevski@reddit
If someone hated horses in 1826 I’d assume they were sick of the smell of horseshit
CptSandbag73@reddit
Sounds like they are too poor to hire somebody to deal with the horseshit.

E-bike with folded solar panels and a tent on your back. True freedom, but at what cost...
Isotheis@reddit
There's some hilarious solar panel caravan I've seen recently. Dude built a velomobile out of solar panels. With a mattress because his back hurts.
HamBlamBlam@reddit
Probably an homage to his mom, who is both the town mattress and the neighborhood bicycle.
