The IPX ran SunOS. A BSD Unix. I am pretty sure to open case you push the end of something blunt in a hole on the sides where it can push down the tab inside. This allows cover to swing up and off. It’s been 30 years. I can do it better if I can see the sides.

Those are freaking awesome. I have had many vintage computers, including some Sun systems, but I have always wanted an SGI Irix machine.

I have also wanted a Sparcstation IPX since the mid 90s. I love the low footprint workstation design, and would love to see it running era appropriate Sun desktop software, like OpenWindows or CDE.

Did a little bit of shopping Friday 🤣

The SPARCStation is my first Sun system, no idea what I’m getting myself into. I’m not a Sun collector but I thought it would be a fun project.

The Indigo is an R3K, which I’m planning to set up as an IRIX 4 box. Just needs a graphic board and it should be fully ready to go.
