This is a great comparison, relentless bombing not by industrial powerhouses with expensive large machines but by low cost small drones flooded into the area by actors with a larger agenda. The affects are same for the citizens, complete terror. Sadly these people are black so they wont get billions in aid.

been trying to warn about this for a decade at least. we need a Non-Proliferation Treaty for drones like nukes or soon every despot will have an army of them to subjugate 'undesirable' populations
the israelis have built their economy on selling them to conflict zones

Thing is, you can buy/build a drone with relatively simple parts even 3d print most of it.. to then cause immense havoc compared to simplicity of it.
We have opened Pandoras box

oh. you are talking about little quadcopters. sorry i should have specified 'loitering munitions' which are military grade
while what you say is true, we can certainly trace back where any of them originate

Gerans/Shaheds are being used in these attacks in Sudan, they are financed by the UAE or Russia among other actors.
Theres video of a guy recording one crashing into him from selfie cam crazy footage coming out.
WestcoastAlex@reddit
those arent cheap 3d printed quadcopters
PurpleMclaren@reddit
Uh huh.. but an 3-4 FPVs can do a comparable amount of damage so im just highlighting how its not as easy as a proliferation treaty
WestcoastAlex@reddit
if there was conventions against them we would track the origin and find the users

Nukes require a lot of very specific equipment and lots of hard to get uranium and a lot of time refining it.
That alone kept most countries from even trying to get one.
A normal person can make a deadly drone in their apartment.
No treaty can stop that.
WestcoastAlex@reddit
guidance/navigation systems can be spotted by sattalite communication and the users found .. parts can be restricted .. international conventions arent usually to stop any instance of use but to make it illegal for mass adoption by militaries
'dirty bombs' exist and my comment was a treaty "like" for nukes it doesnt have to be exactly the same.. we also have restrictions on other types of warfare
