Turkish music recommendations pls!

Hello all, i've been going down a bit of a musical rabbit hole ever since i looked into Dimitrie Cantemir and found out he composed Turkish classical music during his years in Istanbul(very few Romanians are aware of this). Can you guys recommend similar music from other composers? I'm looking for songs that you feel are iconic and represent your culture/history the best. What are your most well known classics or folk songs?
Some of the things i've been listening to, to give you an idea:
Taksim (Kanun, Tanbur, Santur et Oud) Dimitri Kantemiroğlu
Taksim (Kanun) Dimitri Kantemiroğlu (Istanbul)
Der makām-ı Hüseynī Semâ'î (Mss. D.Cantemir 268)
Ottoman Turkish War Song Mehter 2 (movie soundtrack??)
Hasan Mutlucan - Küffar (Rock Cover) - YouTube (yes i know it's AI and i know the original, but i'm a sucker for heavy metal fusions)
Any examples of pop or fusion(old-new styles) are also appreciated, but preferably sung in Turkish and not just trying to copy western music. I only know Tarkan and Ibrahim Tatlises when it comes to pop. Thank you!
Mavişim <- this one is addictive

Maybe i should have posted there directly, this post is getting downvoted (the ratio is close to 50%-50% tho) and i don't get why. But i'm happy people were so willing to share, i already got good suggestions

It’s normal though. Only Turks can answer your question, it is fine to post something about Turkey for Balkans to answer but not something only Turks can answer.

Some polyphonic Turkish classical music stand out track from the album being “Fariğ olmam eylesen Yüz bin cefa”

this might be what you're looking for as long as fusion goes. no lyrics tho. i'll be back and edit with more.

Ottoman classical is not really popular compared to Western classical when it comes to "high music", though there is one melody everyone is familar with which is Nihavend Longa by Kemani Kevser Hanım.
As for modern music definitely check out anything by Sezen Aksu, she's my favorite and it's not even close
radyo-dy@reddit
no gulenists please.
cyanopsittaspixiiiii@reddit
Damn is Sezen a Gülenist? Really sucks I loved her music..
radyo-dy@reddit
to the very core. her father was the principal to the very first gülenist school(or one of the very firsts) and she didn't fall far from the tree. she was a very prominent figure to push gülenist politics before their beef with the government. she's keeping a low profile since then.

I got through the rap and pop part so far. Rap is weird to listen to in other languages because.. you know.. it's rap 😅. The lyrics matter, but i do like Kolera and No.1 purely for the beat/flow/whatever you call it. I appreciate that there wasn't any mumble rap or trap bullshit in there.
As for the pop songs, i did not expect to enjoy them so much, damn. I'm not really a fan of the pop genre, but i like almost all of the ones you listed here. (And now youtube is bombarding me with more recomendations lol). I feel like i'm peeking into another universe, wtf you guys make really good pop music how is it not more well known abroad?!
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit
Thanks man! Enjoy it. Maybe I can elaborate some points.
Rengin (who sung aldatıldık) was a very famous popstar during 1990s, but suddenly she got married and started to live an ordinary life. Basically no news since. But there are some people that write in forums that told they saw her in a basketball match.
İrem Derici is known as a "crazy bitch" in Turkey. First song of her was "Kalbimin Tek Sahibine" was very slow and romantic, it became popular in Arab countries. Later on, she made lots of plastic surgeries and came to trend topic with more obscene news. She's known as a flirtatious woman and explicitly says in her interviews "When I see a good looking man I approach him" etc. Whatever, long story short, she started as a naive romantic singer and ended up knowing as a thot.
Hande Yener (sings Emrine Amade) is also known as the mother of Turkish pop. She's basically the master of the musical market of Turkey. She's known and criticizes for using an erotic subliminal tone in her songs. Basically she was criticized by rappers for exploiting her femininity to make money.
In the song "Emrine Amade" she says
"Ağlatıyor beni ağlatıyor
Yola çıkıyorum bazen arada
Belki geçerken der bir "merhaba"
Aslında pek de şansım yok ama
Gönül bu, ferman dinlemiyor
Bak, gözlere bak, o ne endam?
"Adam" lafı hafif kalır yanında
Kurşun gibi deler, geçer
İz bırakmaz, bıraksa da değer
Alsın beni, silsin yeri
Çıtım çıkmaz, dinlerim sözünü
Günahıyla, sevabıyla
Hayatıma girsin, kilitlesin bizi"
This words are derived to censor some sexual meanings, for example she says "alsın beni silsin yeri" silsin comes from siksin which means "may he fuck". In this lyrics she says things like "He makes me cry, he drills like bullet, he doesn't leave any traces but even if he does it worth it" etc. Basically she plays with the words to give an erotic context.
Kolera was the wife of Turkey's one of the most famous rappers Sagopa Kajmer. What Kolera and Sagopa do is very interesting, they write their songs in Divan, ancient Ottoman poetry technique with some Persian words. That's why their songs are very exotic. Before, they were the stars of the conservatives of Turkey. Then they got divorced. Now, Sagopa Kajmer announced that he left Islam and Kolera isn't so conservative anymore, she makes music videos in fishnets.
Model who sings "Dağılmak İstiyorum" was one of the most famous rock bands of Turkey which was dissolved, now, the vocal Fatma Turgut works alone and is still pretty good.
The song "Ararım Sorarım" sung by Pamela is actually an ancient poem written for Prophet Muhammed, in the poem it says "I search for you in the endless nights, where is my beloved love!" referring to the divine love. Basically, Pamela covered it to be a rock song.
Can Bonomo who sung "Abla" represented us in Eurovision 2012.
