Can we just make Hummer its own brand again

Bring back Pontiac you bastards!

There was talks of a GMC Jimmy on the Colorado platform. A GMC Hummer H3 V2 would be awesome. Or even an H4 that's the size of a Wrangler or Bronco with a 2 door option would be even better.

It's back in development.

The hummer weighs like four and a half tons... It'd be hard to not make something smaller.

My favorite fun fact is that several residential roads near me have weight limits <8000lbs. Neither body style of HEV could go down them lol.
Training-Expert5598@reddit
There's an old bridge near me that is a weight limit of 2.5 tons. They are constantly pulling over pickups and large subs crossing it. A Hummer would probably collapse it. Why they haven't torn it down or converted it to pedestrian only is beyond my understanding.

The battery pack alone weighs 3,000 lbs and is heavier than my Focus

I always make a case to get as far aways as I can specifically from the Hummer EV. Even when passing commercial trucks or pickups I just go at a reasonable pace, but something about Joe with a class D license in an HEV tailgating me gets me antsy.

It's really shockingly large. Even compared to other big cars, it's a big car. It's wider than a Silverado 3500 by like half a foot

Yeah... We came across one on a twisty, hilly road at night. Fucking thing ruined my night vision for a few miles. The front is one giant headlight.

They had a potential Bronco/Wrangler competitor that imo looked even better than this all the way back in 2008. Well to be more precise, it would’ve been just a Wrangler competitor at that time.
Funny enough, looks like they reused that “X” nomenclature as the 2008 concept was known as the Hummer HX.

this thing still looks great, update the grill a bit and it still looks modern
trail-g62Bim@reddit
I hate the way that one looks. Reminds me of old Halo.
DocPhilMcGraw@reddit
I think that’s exactly why I like it so much. It’s essentially a road version of a Warthog.
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
That HX had been in Transformer 2 movie, it was a military vehicle for special hunter team .

want
Slasher1738@reddit
I really like this. This size is much better. I wouldn't be able to drive the current one to work
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
That wasn't their first idea of smaller Hummer, they had that with HX concept. However, the idea was too late to come, as Gm had to shut down Hummer brand in that time.
We glad to see they still remembering that idea. A smaller Hummer has to happen because not all want H2 size Hummer EV.

If GMC can keep the capability while cutting weight, people might finally take it more seriously.

A Rivian R2 competitor styled like the Hummer SUV gives me naughty thoughts.
