“According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the LCOE for advanced nuclear power was estimated at $110/MWh in 2023 and forecasted to remain the same up to 2050, while solar PV estimated to be $55/MWh in 2023 and expected to decline to $25/MWh in 2050”
From the world nuclear industry status report. Half the cost with it getting cheaper every year. I was exaggerating because Republicans won’t pay attention unless you lie to them.
That’s great and all but nuclear is far more land efficient and actually works when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow. There aren’t enough batteries in the world to store power on a scale large enough for a country like the US. Nuclear is far closer to green than any fossil fuels as it has very little actual waste and when properly managed is multiple times safer than fossil fuel options. Every nuclear disaster on record has been the direct result of ignoring safety standards or protocols. Solar and wind are great options to supplement but they do not create enough actual energy output to meet the ever growing demand for power being created by things like data centers.
Absurd. If this was true China wouldn't be building coal plants. Your claim is true in a few specific situations but if you think it is generally true you have zero clue about the worlds energy markets.
LMAO solar is by far the cheapest energy source, it’s literally half the cost of nuclear. China is building coal because renewables are intermittent, China is building so much more green energy than coal, they’ve actually reduced the amount of coal they use overall in the last few years. Theyre shutting down more coal than they’re building.
The best part is that when you vote for the party that promises to undo at least some of this stuff, they reveal after they’ve won that they were just lying to get your vote and keep doing the things that you voted for them to stop from happening.

Shutting down nuclear power is real dumb. It's like we stop using fire because it burns.

Green energy is orders of magnitude cheaper and better in almost every way.

Thanks for proving my point that green energy is not cheaper and better in almost every way. I was scared you were gonna dig in your heels.
