Sooo...how many things can IT see me do on the company laptop

So I have a Mac Laptop issued by my work place. My own laptop is also a Mac.
Last night I was bored so I grabbed my laptop and started browsing some nsfw sites. I think you know what comes next. It wasn't my personal laptop, it was in fact my work laptop. I noticed pretty fast, like in 5 minutes top.
I can only assume that IT can see some sort of history of what I do on the company laptop.
Should I panic or should I just calm the fuck down and play it cool?

One time I found a hentai game on a coworker’s laptop that I was replacing. It was pretty wild and seemed to be about a busty space lady being deflowered by some sort of pulsating biomass. I deleted it and said nothing; he’s so shy and introverted that the embarrassment could have actually killed him. I’m still waiting for the perfect time to slip the title of the game into a sentence during a staff meeting he’s attending.

It's impossible to know what they can actually see as we don't know what software is on it.
What can they POSSIBLY see is easy. They could install software that COULD in theory, see every site you've been to.
However, IT people don't sit around all day snooping on what you're doing. If they find the sites then it will be probably be a routine check of log files. They may not choose to act if you've only done it the once. If there's a pattern, expect an awkward conversation with HR.
You can always say you had a friend over and they mixed up your work and personal laptops.

You should assume we can see everything you do on a company-provided device.

Ah well...fuck

Depends heavily on the maturity of your organization’s IT department. It’s kind of like asking “how fast is a car?” Best case scenario, they have no monitoring or logging. Worst case is you’re already being processed by HR.
You should never assume any level of privacy on devices you don’t own.

Yes
🤦🏽
If they needed cause, now you’ve given it to them.
I would play it cool, because panicking does nothing.

Just assume they can see everything you do you on your laptop.
On the other hand, if they were terribly bothered those sites probably wouldn't have been accessible on your work laptop.
I wouldn't worry about it for now. If anything comes of it then a "yeah sorry fellas, that was silly, won't happen again" will more likely than not cover it. Unless you're already on the shit list.

Depends on a lot of things and how you were connected to your/their network. It could range from not at all to virtually anything. Whether or not they choose to monitor or act on the information at their disposal is also unknown.

You were not on the work network, and you were not on the work VPN, and most IT staff has zero care unless you are entering your work credentials into a site or downloading and running executable files.
Clear all browsing data in history from all time and relax.

I am surprised you were able to even access content like that on your work laptop. I have not done much administering macs but with windows machines typically we use a roaming client to restrict nsfw access while off company network. Chances are they may not know anything.
Vodor1@reddit
IT won't care unless they're way up the arse of the C-suite who might, but that's pretty rare.

Nothing to worry about. I wouldn't worry about getting a call from your manager or updating your resume. Everything will be fine.

sharing it caring, your IT dept thanks you
Power_Stone@reddit
It depends on the company and security policies, it could range from they saw everything to they saw nothing.

You should Panic. You are F ed.
KLEPTOROTH@reddit
If they are doing it properly they can see literally everything. We install an edr + siem which does full logging of all traffic so. Either way, I'd just play it cool.

Delete the gym, lawyer facebook, and prepare your anus.

The IT department now has a few new bookmarks on their personal devices.
