Besides the government surveillance issues which are shocking there is no way to protect intellectual property from review and theft by the government or those who will hack the government databases. Proprietary medical machines? New EV motors? All subject to open access by government employees and hackers in the US and elsewhere

"Getting" was targeted ads online in the 90s. Fridges advertising to us was the final foray to see if anybody would balk.
Anybody buying anything electronic made after approx. 2010 might as well assume that device has a mic and data plans connection and logs use location and conversations had around it. Nobody should expect there is any moment of any day they are not being surveilled at this point.
