Going from GTX 1070 to 5070 ti after 7 years.

Guys, I know it is just a GPU, but man, I went through a lot with my GTX 1070. It still works to this day, and tomorrow I am getting my new GPU, a 5070 Ti.
Here is my problem: I am the sentimental type, so I do not just want to throw it away or give it away. I have thousands of hours of gaming on my GTX 1070, and went through a lot with it I would like to do something with it.
Should I make a 3D-printed stand display and put it on my table like a piece of a gem it is, or should I do something else with it? Could you guys give me some input on what I should do with it?

Keep using it. Build a steam machine and hook it up to your TV. It’d still be great for indie games.

That's what I do with my hardware. Always downcycle to my HTPC, and then eventually to my NAS. My NAS is running an i5 4570.

Turn it into a display with a cheap 3D printed stand, it’s a cool memento. Or sell it cheap to someone who needs a solid 1080p card. Either way don’t just trash it after all those years.

run a plex/jellyfin server off of it

I went from a gtx 1060 to a 4070ti Super and the jump was immense.
You are in for a treat.
Enjoy.

Framing it for hanging on the wall would be cool.
Maybe include a blueprint style line description below it.

you know what that sounds like great idea.

I still have my RTX 750ti from years ago. Some cards are just too good to let go of.

Stick it in a picture frame thing and hang it like art.

ye i think i am also leaning up to frame it on the wall

I gave my 1070ti to my son because he had an rx590 lol.

Heh, I went from a 1070 TI to a 9070 XT recently as well. Either plop it into another machine, give it to someone who would be interested in playing games at 1080p, or keep it as a backup should something terrible happen.

I had the same upgrade path, upgraded last July! Truly a world of difference, I feel like I was missing out until now, especially combined with getting an ultrawide 1440p to go with it.

Did almost the same few weeks ago, went from 1080ti to 5070, and have no idea what I should do with 1080ti now

displaying my 1080 would be cool tbh
Hungry_Reception_724@reddit
Id sell it, still worth about a bill on the market.
TasteTheDoom@reddit (OP)
ye i would but i would like to keep it as it has sentimental value for me
Hungry_Reception_724@reddit
I guess...

Cut it in two on a waterjet and encase it in resin.

XD

Many people keep them and display them or keep a spare for trouble shooting and what not. If you were so inclined you could set up something like a PLEX server with it. Lots of options really.
TasteTheDoom@reddit (OP)
that sounds like good idea i was also thing something in those lines

I personally agree with putting on display. I would do the same if i had my 3D printer, it broke beyond repair.
1070 is still an okayish card. You could turn into a media center pc or sell it
