How do you fold a VNC for a trifold VFR kneeboard?

I cannot find anything online for how I should fold my VNC so it fits in that clear right pocket on the asa kneeboard. Does anyone know how, or can point me towards a resource or video for it? Thank you

However you want to fold it?
What I usually did was laminate mine, draw out my route and fold it so it was just big enough to see my whole route.
If the route was bigger Id fold it so I got to my first way point, and re fold it after landing for the rest of the leg.
It sucks but eventually the laminate will become flexible enough that it doesn't matter how you fold it.

I'm just going to swallow my embarrassment for not knowing, and ask what's a VNC.

Ya see. I didn't realise this was a Canadian thing before I posted this lol. It is a VFR Navigation Chart and apparently it's equivalent to a sectional chart in the US.

I'm happy I learned something today!

In this case the answer is I clip my iPad onto my knee board and there’s my sectional.

Step one is to not use a knee board. You're not a fighter pilot.
THevil30@reddit
I use a knee board in addition to my yoke mounted iPad. Not for a sectional but it’s a pain in the ass to write down ATC instructions on the shitty ForeFlight scratchpad, set up vertically in front of you.

Paper charts are only mandatory to be tested on and used by EVERY pilot in Canada at some point in their training lol. Your dead iPad ain’t gonna help you much when you’re lost
Gabriel_Owners@reddit
Can you show me where Transport Canada regulations mandate paper charts for flight training? No, you can't. Because they don't mandate the use of paper charts.
You are legally permitted to use EFBs provided they are current and you have a backup.

Glad you asked. See Aircraft and Equipment Requirements B.

Good boy. Now do you still need instructions on how to fold your map? Do we need to put it in tik tok format so you can understand it?

VNC they said which mean Canadian. You have to for PPL training at some schools. I wasn’t aware anyone being allowed to use digital for PPL for training or flight test.

See step one.

It is not clearly stated that all examiner will accept EFB in lieu of old school paper. It it clearly stated if you use efb you should be asked to explain how the efb gets to the solution you are using. So, on balance of not risking sticking your foot in your mouth during orals I think it’s best to just use paper and do all the calculations in pencil.

Well then maybe don't skip your "how to fold a map" day if you have to hold it. Is this really a question?
Lpolyphemus@reddit
Maybe understand that not everybody has the same needs as you and react with kindness rather than contempt.

I’m also just trying to figure it out ahead of time. I haven’t even gotten to needing my VNC yet. Just trying to stay organized really
Gabriel_Owners@reddit
Help me, internet! I can't fold a map without you!
flyingron@reddit
Stuff it in your seat back pocket and whip out your ipad.

I never tired to fold to fit a knee board.
I used laminated VNC for durability. So they don’t fold so well. What you do is get some clips and fold it so the area you need is shown and use the clip to keep it from springing back out. Usually I’d cease it so the folding and clipping means I can unfold it to a larger size in flight without undoing my clips. This way if I get asked questions or we end up going somewhere further for the expected practice area, I can get to that section and easily.
