Buenas tardes

Well GTA will be on console for probably a year before it comes to PC. That being said the consoles are all AMD which is why COD runs so much better on AMD than Nvidia for the price. Also FSR 4 is being opened up to a whole host of new devices meaning that developers will be implementing it in everything just like DLSS. It would probably be a good investment to get a RX 9070 XT and then see what the market does over the next two years. Unless you want to spend over $1000 on a GPU for low fps path tracing at 4k or laggy gameplay with high latency to get decent FPS (looking at you MFG). Anyways if you look at use case the 9070 xt will do everything you will be looking to do besides pathtracing at 4k which you really need an RTX 5090 to do.

Great comment, thanks. I should add that I'm not an Nvidia fanatic, but even though the 9070 XT is said to be a very good graphics card (and I know it is), I'm afraid to spend €650 now and not get the 4K performance I expect. But I think spending €650 and regretting it later is worse than spending €400 more on one that will give me the performance I need. Because even though it's only a 20% improvement over the RX, the DLSS and Mfg (x3) really appeal to me, as it could save me in certain situations.

Ill let you know something coming from someone with an 13700k + 4090 upgraded to a 5090 that has been building mid range computers since he was 13. Multi frame Gen does nothing if you can hit 50 to 60FPS first. If you start from 40fps or lower ,which you will with a 5070 ti or 5080 in a lot of cases, then the game gets too much latency and is hard to play. You can move the mouse and see the delay on the screen. To get high frame rate in path tracing games you have to drop down to performance upscaling and then add on multi frame generation. Once you drop down to performance you start noticing a blur and weird artifacts especially when moving fasr. Path tracing is cool and beautiful on an oled but still didnt get me to play all the way through cyberpunk or allen wake with a 5090. I wanted so hard for the 4090 and 5090 to be the cure to raytracing/path tracing at 4k but the truth is path tracing is too expensive still. However, games are still beautiful with high settings and with raytracing off or at lower than max settings. Most ultra settings in game are impossible to differentiate from high (check out settings optimizer videos on youtube) What gets me coming back to my rig is the games not the graphics. Hell I spent dozens of hours the other month playing Wow classic because it was fun with a friend. Don't focus too hard or specs and settings just get something that makes since to you and your wallet and make sure you are investing in your future.

Nah, you're the best, dude. I'll think about it a bit, because even though I don't mind spending more on Nvidia, it's true that if I can save a lot of money, I'll be grateful in the future. Your final answer is: Buy an RX 9079 XT for €650, right?
lleyton05@reddit
5070ti with DLSS is a great 4k option, of course the 5080 will be better but it’s a lot of money
AltruisticGrab3407@reddit (OP)
I also thought about that, buy the 5079 ti and use the MFG or its dlss, but it is currently at €1000 and the 5080 at 1200
lleyton05@reddit
Honestly that’s not that bad of a difference. If you can reasonably afford it I say go for it. If you can’t I wouldn’t feel bad bc the 5070ti still is going to be good for your needs, although a few titles may not be able to hit ultra.
Just be aware that’s a 20% price increase for probably only a 10-15% performance increase, so there is diminishing returns

To be comfortable for 4k ultra with new and future titles you are limited to rtx 4090, 5080, or 5090. The 5080 is your best price point, but still expect expect to use DLSS or forgo path tracing on some newer games to hit good fps.
AltruisticGrab3407@reddit (OP)
Do you think buying an RTX 5080 is a good idea, or should I wait for the 6000 series? I currently have a 2070 Super, and it could handle 2K resolution.
deathdisco_89@reddit
I can't answer that for you. For me the 5070 is the right price to performance for me, but I play exclusively in 2k.
D3lta_37@reddit
For 4k ultra you need at least a 5080, in heavier titles you probably won't achieve ultra even with a 5080. The only problem is your power supply, because for these gpus you need at least 1000w
AltruisticGrab3407@reddit (OP)
Thanks, man. Everyone's telling me not to pay for a 5080, that an RX 9070 XT does the same thing for half the price, and that doesn't really convince me. I feel like if I buy the AMD card, I'll regret it later. Anyway, I bought the PC thinking about playing in 2K ultra, which is why I only bought a 750W power supply. Then I got the monitor on sale, and I was stuck with it...
D3lta_37@reddit
9070xt can go in 4k but not in ultra settings. Dlss helps a lot for that. If you want, you can do upscaling for 4k but I don't really know how it goes

You think i'm rich? hahahaha
D3lta_37@reddit
You need to be for 4k ultra in this economy
DesignBasic7865@reddit
I don’t know about 4k, but 2k the 5070ti literally only gets 5-15 fps less than the 5080, and they save you a huge buck. I have a 9800x3d with a 2k monitor and 5070ti and I can run everything max settings. (I do use DLSS cause it don’t bother me)
AltruisticGrab3407@reddit (OP)
I don't mind using DLSS either; in fact, that's why I prefer an Nvidia card to an AMD one. But for 4K, I'm afraid I'll regret it.
