Misses the point. The original Cobra was designed to give buyers the most bang for the buck. Shelby was selling the original 260/289 Cobras cheaper than loaded out Corvettes of the time.
A true modern day Cobra, should be a V8 roadster that competes with the base C8 in price, not against Ferraris and Lambos.

Luckily, you can still get one for that price. You just have to build it.
aftonone@reddit
That would be nice but I think we’re well past that possibility in this day and age.

I wonder when we'll see a manual 6 speed replace the clunky T56. This is the third decade that it's still be used at the upper echelon of manual, high horsepower sports cars, and it's hardly the right gearbox for such cars at this price range when compared to luxurious European counterparts.
KungFuActionJesus5@reddit
It's probably a TR-6060.
mantenner@reddit
I mean, basically the same thing in essence. Still a clunker.
KungFuActionJesus5@reddit
I don't think I've driven one myself, but that's certainly not the prevailing opinion that people seem to have about them.
holchansg@reddit
You got my attention.
Geofferz@reddit
Lost mine, of course
mantenner@reddit
Just out of my budget, if only it was sub 400k
Geofferz@reddit
Honestly if it were sub 400k I might seriously consider it.
As long as it were 370k below 400k.
mantenner@reddit
Unfortunately I'm not at that stage of life yet....or maybe ever....will keep grinding.
cat_prophecy@reddit
"370k below 400K" would make it 30K
RIP_Soulja_Slim@reddit
You can always go for the regular AC GT, it's ~280 with a coyote motor.
UmaThurmish@reddit
unfortunately thats the reality of the world. with wealth keeps going to less and less people.

Whih parts of the design do you find cheeky? I love it, diffrent enough from original so it is moves away from being a "replica" yet still recognizable.
If I somehow learn how to code, make an app, and sell it for billions,,,, this would be one of the signs.

Wheels(but everything else in the exterior looks sweet, the panels are perfect designed), the small screen, if going for screen at least embed it better, got full retard, own it. Lots of good projects out there did it. Felt like a out of place garmin. The carbon fiber also very bad, out of place with that luxury/fresh interior, why not metal? Maybe even wood. The steering wheel is also out of place, i like the materials, but it doesn't click, it is too bulky, too voluptuous, even the spokes to fit the overall look of the interior. The pedals are bulky, are voluptuous but they talk with the surroundings.
Otherwise_Rub_4557@reddit
Good breakdown. I love the wheels but the og styl deep dish knock ofs would look sick as wheel. Steering wheel could be better design wise.
I see why they did the slapped on screen, the shapes on the dash is iconic, I'm not sure how i would integrate it. If that screen folded away or was removable it would be really cool. Wood and metal trim packages would raise it up a notch (not sure if they do that)
It is a pretty tall order trying to add your own design style to a car design as incredible as the Cobra.
Seeker80@reddit
Cool that they'll offer an NA Coyote for 'mortals.' Love the coupe body on it.
Capri280@reddit
Putting aside the fact that this is a name revival company that's only a few years old, what does make the mighty Invacar?
James_Vowles@reddit
Cool car
Boggie135@reddit
I am in love with that interior
Plyphon@reddit
In the world of $1m + Singers and Guntherwerks etc etc I’m honestly surprised it took them this long.
Looks great. Hope they sell.
Lord_Strepsils@reddit
Yeah even the new donkervoort costs more
