Do you know anyone that met at downtown on 11/02/21 waiting for JFK jr to announce he was alive? tell us about it.

Im wondering, what do those people think of that evet now?
what did they say when he didnt show up?
do they still think he is still alive?
what did they do after? where they just like "oh well, lets go to the waffle house"

Sorry, I just moved here. What is this? šµāš«

so back in the covid era, there was this huge conspiracy theory going around called "QANON" they believed a bunch of dumb stuff. but they all stemmed from the belief that this secretive person that went by "Q" was feeding trump a bunch of deepstate secrets and was working behind the scenes with trump to fix all the problems of the world.
and this Q person was releasing all these cryptic messages that were supposed to be clues for people to figure out.
the grand reveal of the theory was supposed to be that this secret Q person was actually JFK jr, who died a long time ago, only he didnt die, and him and trump were gonna take back the country and run it as a duo.
so this even was supposed to be JFK jr's grand reappearance, and him and trump were gonna ride triumphantly trough commerce street to greet a crowd of their fans and announce that they would be running for office.
anyways, none of that happened. people were waiting for hours for them to show up and they never did.
hkral11@reddit
Iāve never understood, how did the democrats dynasty offspring JFK Jr become the object of their fixation? Itās not like he was some outspoken conservative or even an important political figure outside of his dadās legacy.
masquefetiche@reddit
Well this is crazy
FlatulousStanko@reddit
I worked with a woman who attended. She was a few years older than me, so in her mid 50s now. We both worked in fairly high positions in a major defense manufacturing corporation.
She was pretty smart, except when it came to conspiracy theories. In that realm, it seemed like she believed Every. Damned. One.
JFK Jr. was alive? Check. Russia went to war with Ukraine to save the children from trafficking pedophiles? Check. Flat earth? Check. Chem trails? Check. Q-Anon? Check. COVID was fake and also a Chinese bioweapon that makes weren't needed for but also horse-dewormer could cure, and the governed was controlling us with it but also Trump would save us from his own government? Check.
I had to have meetings with her often, and it killed me to talk to her for more than 5 minutes. So crazy and stupid in some ways, but smart in normal in others. What's worse, is she was convincing my boss to come in board as well.
It's MAGA, and it's a fucking cult.
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
to be fair, the horse dewormer controversy, was very deceptive and manipulative. and no offense, but the fact that you bring it up, shows that the lie did work because people still believe it.
so basically that was a medicine that yes, was used on horses, but also on humans. which is not a rare thing, some medicine has uses for both humans and animals, and often contains the exact same active ingredients. and no, people werent consuming the version for horses, it was a version for humans, which contained the same active ingredients as the one for horses.
but yea, going back to you point. I know lots of people like that, they seem smart, sharp, but then they bring up some of the most horridly dumb conspiracy theories. and you look at them differently.
i had a coworker thar used to get super heated up about conspiracies. and one time we were talking about ancient civilizations and he brought up the annunaki and how they bioengeneered humans, etc, etc.
he asked me if i was aware of that theory and i said yes, then he went on and still explained it to me, and i was nodding along, meaning that i knew those points of the theory, but he assumed that i was nodding along to let him know that i agreed with those points.
anyways one time he is telling it to a bunch of coworkers and theyre making fun of him for it, and he points to me and says "even ____ agrees with me" and i just freeze, and he's like "we were just talking about it the other day!"
so now, in his mind, im this two faced guy who agrees with him one day, and disagrees the next. and in my coworkers mind im another conspiracy theorist.
marsattck5@reddit
Lmao you're insane. The two are not remotely the same. The fact you say that makes you one of those weird "both sides" idiots. And people were in fact taking horse dewormer. There's a reason why ffed stores were putting up signs that it was for animal consumption only.
hkral11@reddit
Youāre right about ivermectin. Itās used in veterinary medicine but also for humans in treating parasites. People were buying the livestock dosage from feed stores for sure. The biggest thing with it was how people latched onto it as a super cure (my dad is still using it for every sniffle and skin spot he has) but rejected medicines with actual medical backing to treat/prevent covid. Theyāre anti pharma unless itās the one their crowd supports.
UDMN@reddit
lmao dude you've dipped your toe in the crazy with this one
Zestyclose_Use7055@reddit
Didnāt realize you were a doctor or pharmacist. But you can just google it instead of calling people crazy lol. Too much effort for u I guess

Thanks for the info. Sorry about your worms.

are you referring to my friends theories or the horse dewormer thing?
UDMN@reddit
Spending any time trying to explain the horse goat jizz worm cream is more energy than it deserves
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
the irony that you would say that on a post about people who blindly followed propaganda fed to them, and then you literally respond to my comment by saying that it isnt worth spending any time to dispell the propaganda that you yourself were fed, and are actively doubling down on....
im telling ya, there's this left vs right war going on, and both sides are equally dumb.

I care for an 87yr old blind man who is fully convinced he needs to get his hands on some horse dewormer. He listens to Fox all day, thinks Trump was sent by God and that the government (not trump of course) is keeping people from purchasing ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine that is "proven to make everyone healthy, kill covid and parasites and cancer" because the government wants to sell us snake oil instead. Only the elites get access to ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. He is convinced Fox is the only truthful media.
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
the thing with the ivermecting thing, is that it was a complete manipulation tactic.
the horse dewormer myth wasnt even started by the right. it started as a media campaign against joe rogan ( and i hate the dude, but in this particular case he was right)
the media ran a campaign mocking joe rogan for his covid regiment and they were the ones who coined ivermecting a "horse" dewormer. which it is not, the version that joe took was not at all for animal consuption. it would be the equivalent of critizicing someone who takes insulin or amoxicillin and saying that they are taking animal medication. it was a completely idiotic argument, and they got called out to the point where the chief medical reporter for CNN had to go on joe rogans podcast and personally apologize to him. and the fact that people dont know that fact is insane because it is so easy to look up.
now, the 87 year old blind man that you care for... if they believed that horse dewormer could cure him, when there was a human version available, well he is just a gullable old man who doesnt do his research like all the people who drank the horse dewormer kool aid.
there are people just that dumb. on both sides of the spectrum. people who hear a rumor and just run with it. also, during that whole debacle, fox would have been the network who had a vested interest in clearing up the confusion about the horse dewormer myth. so if he was an avid fan of fox and still was confused about he horse dewormer thing, then he just didnt have all his marvels in place.
and again im not a joe rogan fan nor a fox fan. it is just that in this particular segment of stupid people doing stupid things, all the blame should fall on CNN for having created the horse dewormer myth.
im_not_a_gay_fish@reddit
Ivermectin originated as a livestock de-wormer. Are there human versions available? Sure (they came later). And its used for the same thing. Parasitic worms. Which most people don't get (unless you live in a subtropical undeveloped nation).
The use of ivermectin (in developed nations) on humans is rare. Very rare. But it is used on livestock all the time.
To call it horse or livestock de-wormer is accurate, because that is its main purpose.
Your argument is specious AT BEST.
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
it is not accurate at all, man. your statement is manipulative at best.
the version that joe rogan took was the human version, full stop.
to claim that he took the animal version is criminally misleading. and the proof is that people started looking to take the animal version because that is what CNN reported.
im_not_a_gay_fish@reddit
You seem to feel very strongly about the semantics of it all.
Did you by chance try to use horse de-wormer to treat covid? Did you get it from the pharmacy or the feed store?
HappyEquine84@reddit
Uh, no, they absolutely were buying the version made for horses. I have horses, and there was a shortage because so many insane people were buying it all. The feed stores had to literally lock it up for a while.
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
yes, insane people were. but that doesnt take away from the fact that the whole debacle started because CNN called the version that joe rogan took a "horse dewormer" which was a complete lie, he took the version for humans, and it was administered to him by a doctor.

Iām always fascinated by these highly intelligent and functioning conspiracy theorists. Sometimes I wonder if they go that path just for the fun of having āedgyā opinions. It seems so incongruous to a functioning life.
FluidFisherman6843@reddit
For the one I know, I think it is how she deals with the grief in her life. She has lost an adult child, a husband and the current one had a stroke.
hkral11@reddit
My dad started getting into conspiracy theories and Q Anon after my mom was diagnosed with early dementia and he became her caretaker. I read an article once about how believing conspiracies comes from wanting control you donāt have day to day and I can see that. Sadly he was into the MAGA cult before the diagnosis but it amplified after.
FlatulousStanko@reddit
This woman got into Q-Anon because her daughter was trafficked and then committed suicide. So yeah, a similar thing broke her brain in that one department.
iscav@reddit
Mental illness. Bipolar/delusional/schizophrenia are usually incredibly intelligent and can make you think they are living a functioning life but really latch on to conspiracy theories. At least that's my experience with them.
strog91@reddit
I went to this (and also to the encore event they held one year later). I saw something about it on Reddit and jumped in my car and drove downtown ASAP to see the crazies. Parked in the Holocaust Museumās parking garage and walked over.
The crowd was really excited. Giddy almost. JFK is alive and heās going to show up in a limousine and solve all of Earthās problems! Lots of strangers were striking up conversations with each-other. It felt kinda like a tailgate at the Super Bowl.
I was surprised that around 2/3rds of the folks who came out were women. Also they were mostly older: Gen X and Boomers.
I also remember there were a bunch of impromptu speeches being given by Qanon and far-right influencers to the rest of the crowd. There was one guy in a suit who I believe turned out to be Alex Stein.
And I was struck by how many cars and trucks had Qanon flags mounted on the back. One kept driving loops through Dealy Plaza and everyone cheered when it drove by.
ChicagoRay312@reddit
Alex Stein is a HUGE tool who comes from an affluent background. Iām sure absolutely none of what he said that day came true and yet people still give him attention.
MilkmanResidue@reddit
I pretty sure that Alex Stein is all satire. I donāt think he believes what he is saying. Kind of like early days Colbert but cranked up to 11.
ChicagoRay312@reddit
Heās not satire. He was at the latest No Kings Protest saying homophobic things with a megaphone while hanging around the Proud Boys.
Right_Rev@reddit
Stein is not satire. He believes exactly in what heās saying.
fakejacki@reddit
Yeah my husband went to school with him, heās a huge tool who just wants attention.

I met an H1B Indian who was into this from Frisco Dude would have won olympic gold in mental gymnastics.
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
now that you mention it, it does look like a karen convention.
i wanted to go too, just to look at their reaction when no one showed up.
but then i thought there might be some actual deranged people in the crowd and they might be dangerous.
i wonder if they forgot to do something for jfk to appear. like, they needed to tap on the X 3 times., or do one extra loop around the plaza with their trucks to invoke jfk.
_donut_head@reddit
If I had the time and money I would have hired a JFK lookalike and special effects team, hired a motorcade, have them drive down Dealey Plaza to greet an excited crowd and then fake the assassination all over again. Fake blood and everything, with hidden assassins in the book depository and grassy knoll. It would have been worth the trouble to see everyoneās reactions.
LittleMissKnope@reddit
I ended up staying at the downtown Hyatt regency thanksgiving weekend that year, so several weeks after this all started. People were still out there.
We could see deely plaza from our room. The hotel parking lot had several cars with crazy decals all over. A lot of the other hotel guests had obviously been out there and came in late at night, left early in the morning. It was very strange
captainn_chunk@reddit
This is what you call a real life honey pot.
Iād bet actual money that at least 50 of the people in those crowd shots are all agents of the fbi or cia.
Q anon was a huge LARP that sucked in a huge amount of boomers (as you can see in these photos). Anyone that showed up to this most definitely got put on a list lmao
Far_Experience_4643@reddit
Absolutely. The fbi puts them on a list to watch and q anon puts them on a list to pump for money.
One takes advantage of the mentally unstable and the other watches them to make sure they stay harmless and donāt become triggered.
captainn_chunk@reddit
Everythingās a psyop
TrumpsNostrils@reddit (OP)
I always wondered, the people that pulled off this scam, what was their purpose?
someone was definitely hearding these people, but was was the point of this manipulation?
you mention putting them on a list, but i dont think that's it.
there must have been something else.

Lmao this question coming from an account with that name is uhhhhhhhh somethin

this is so funny to me bc why would they think JFK Jr would announce he was still alive at the same exact spot his father was shot lmao. these people probably called out of their shift at kroger for this.

Yeah I happened to be down there, we went to Cindiās Deli and there were load of them and they said some wild shit, like they complemented us on something under the context of assuming weāre Christian and along for their crazy town ride - weāre Jewish - and definitely not.
At one point this table of women were all in sobbing tears for some reason - we did our best to not engage further.
wewantthemonk@reddit
Just take it in that these are real adults with jobs, kids, mortgages, etc. they canāt all be mentally unstable, day to day. Surely some are embarrassed looking back but itās crazy how swept up people got.
I swear the pandemic truly altered our known timeline.

the worst part is that everyone in that crowd voted

This is what I canāt wrap my head around. That there are these people in our day to day life. If you talked to many of them about their jobs or favorite hobby, they would sound smart and sane. But then these people seem to have something broken in them that crazy fantastical BS like this becomes part of their reality. Iāve seen it happen to a few friends online over the years, in varying degrees. Usually starting with sharing posts about vaccines/autism and microwave water killing plants etc. But soon they turned political. Many of their profile pics became American flags/Eagles. I know one or two were definitely into Qanon. Then they disappeared deep into the craziness. So far gone Iād end up blocking or unfollowing/friending them. They all became maga eventually. I am starting to really see the insanity all around me. Like the big picture. Itās overwhelming and a bit amazing weāve all survived this long. Either that or I am the one who is going insane.
