Why does your site complain so much about codecs on iOS?

I’m on 26.5. All of the videos which the site says can’t play on my device (or require software decoding) play just fine when I press download.

Hmm maybe a bug, I will check. I implemented this very recently when I noticed that on older IOS devices VP9 and especially AV1 doesn't play. Software decoding allows to still play those videos. There is a limitation which is not allowing to do software decoding for AV1 files in mp4 container though but now this is converted during upload to webm so only old files are affected. If you could link to one post where this is happening to you that would be a great help!
