Need an MSP in melbourne where do I start?

We're a small business based in Melbourne with around 30 employees and we're finally looking at getting proper IT support instead of calling our "tech guy" cousin every time something breaks lol.
We mainly need:
Microsoft 365 management
Basic cybersecurity setup (firewall, antivirus)
Helpdesk support for staff
Maybe phone system down the line
Budget isn't huge, so fixed pricing would be ideal. I hate unpredictable IT bills.
I've come across a few names so far. Telco ICT keeps coming up, they're local, Ashburton-based, fixed pricing, no lock-in contracts, decent Google reviews. Has anyone had experience with them, and do you know if they're a good fit for a business of our size?
Open to other suggestions too. Just want something reliable without being locked into a 3-year contract.
Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Honestly you have some many options you could just Google MSP and bam. The problem is what you wanting could be done with a single internal staff and then a MSP on top. Last check my AUS msps cost me $150per hour for support for helpdesk.

I mean, this is basically what I do. I work a company of 50 solo on 10 hours a week. It's not great, and progress is slow, but it's enough to keep your head above water

Respect for holding it down solo for 50 people lol, that's no joke. 10 hrs a week sounds lean, but if the basics are covered, I guess it works. Does it ever get overwhelming when something big breaks?

Cheers! Yea sometimes stuff does break, but I have it lucky, most of our stuff has been fairly reliable. A few network appliances and servers etc, but they've been pretty stable.
If ever I need more time then I can organise it, no biggie

Speaking as an MSP, the best way to find an MSP is by referral from other orgs in your area. Do you or your exec team have a business peer group? Put out feelers and find out who other people are using and what their experience has been.
We actually directly engage with these groups, what with us being a business ourselves, but lots of our customers have come in from peer group referrals from happy customers.

Company I work with, can assist. Sydney based MSP but located in Melbourne too. Your requirements sounds like we can match up pretty quick. Dm me if you are interested.

Telco ict is worth a look, honestly, they came up for us too when we were shopping around. local, no lock-in, fixed pricing pretty much what you're describing. 30 people should be fine for them

I can’t stress this enough if you’re not tech literate then don’t deal with MSPs by yourself.
Hire one solid well rounded IT guy and have him work with the MSP in a hybrid setup.

Hey, we're Texaport, a UK-based MSP, so not local to you, however we do work with clients across Australia and globally on fixed monthly pricing, with engineers in the region to support during your work hours and round the clock if needed. Remote-first support genuinely works well for a 30-person team if the provider is set up for it.
If that sounds like something you are interested in, DM us anytime!

30 people is still pretty small. There realistically can be a solo shop that can manage this still. However I work for an MSP in Melbourne and right now it's definitely a buyers market so take your time, be picky and get the best price.
Depending on your industry, If you would like someone to help review the contract I would genuinely be happy to help you assist where I can.

Does it have to be in Melbourne? Dm me if you are happy with a Sydney based msp

Probably worth stating that OP is talking Melbourne Australia, not Melbourne Florida/America
dreadpiratewombat@reddit
Important context because Melbourne is where the best coffee in the world is. As such, any MSP worth its shit better know where to find a good cuppa.
Zealousideal_Ad642@reddit
Well Telco ICT is in Ashburton which is also where Joe Frank cafe is, great coffee!

Nah - ain't nobody thinking this was anywhere other than Australia 🤣

I have no idea what the pricing is like since I'm not privy to that, but the guys at Fusion5 are great. Professional, prompt, and knowledgeable.
