First cruise night!

One of my goals while building it was to make it to this cruise night, it was the opening event of the season and my car was finally reliably driving so I made the dream come true! I got overwhelmed with compliments and people asking about the car, it feels good to hear from others that can appreciate the hard work!

Brother I’m struggling to wrap my brain around how cool that front suspension is.
Tons of respect for how much work you’ve put into this.

Thank you! The front suspension is definitely one of my favorite parts, looks so cool in motion

Looks sick dude. I sorta wish the front wheels matched the rears. How does it drive compared to what you expected?
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
I purposely wanted the cartoonish look of having huge back wheels and small front wheels, I thought it would be a softer ride but the shocks really tightened it up, handles nice but because it's manual steering you really have to muscle it going fast through turns

Honestly, just check out harmon.my. It’s a social app built for car logs and tracking mods. Used it to get rid of my messy iPhone notes list, plus it’s cool to see what your friends are running on their builds without having to text them for a spec list.

That is damn cool.
Genuine question, is that legal to drive on the streets, registered etc? I'm from Australia and there is no way that car would be allowed on a public road in any of the Australian states so I'm just curious.

The things we can do in most of North America blows my European coworkers minds. In my province you have to have a car inspected to get it plated. Once plated it NEVER needs inspection of any kind ever again no matter what you do to it! It's basically the honour system.
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Yea I was able to register and insure it normally, no inspection needed for cars older than 25 in my state, so I'm sure I could get tickets for loud exhaust, no fenders, or being too low but no one has bothered me yet

Thanks for the reply. Enjoy the car.

So authentic! I guess suspension hight is adjustable?
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Exactly! Aired out for parking, can get about 6" of lift and I set ride height around 3" off the ground
MyMotorStory_app@reddit
Is it possible to see her in the full height mode? Thank you!
TheWhiskeyFish@reddit
So incredibly badass
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Thanks!
HarvestTheLight@reddit
Looks awesome. Enjoy the summer cruising!
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Absolutely!
MontyRapid@reddit
Thats dope.
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Thanks!

Love that front suspension bag setup. Nicely done!
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Thanks! A ratrod shop called Village Customs designed it and I modified it to work with what I had
theonlyjoshy@reddit
Love how you routed that exhaust, it all looks great
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Thanks! It's sprint car headers flipped upsidedown and shortened, a couple long radius elbows and then I made teardrop shaped tips
theonlyjoshy@reddit
It’s just unique in not being sucked up to the body, the distance from the cab. It looks great - I wouldn’t have expected that. Looking through your profile man that’s an absolute beauty
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Thanks! Reminds me of spider legs from the front
80toy@reddit
How much clearance between the header and the battery? It look's really close in the pic?
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
2.5" at the closest point, but hasn't given me and trouble yet, lots of airflow so the battery doesn't really get hot
801KJD@reddit
That looks great. How do you go over speed bumps ?
You must have air suspension or some other trick right ?
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
Yea it's on bags all 4 corners, gets about 6" of lift but I drive just under 3" and air up to get over obstacles
Eziekiel23_20@reddit
You can see the deflated bag under the cantilevered arm in the 1st pic.
UnbelievableDingo@reddit
Dope C-Dan homie.
I built a similar ride, but couldn't take the heat of driving it!
Enjoy it dude!
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
It's definitely hot in there especially once the transmission starts heating up, eventually I'll add some kind of heat shielding to everything
silentsnip94@reddit
Ayyy Somerville! Love their cruise nights. Nicely done!
Hopefully I'll have my project done in time for next year's
MrGoldenSnitch@reddit (OP)
It's always a good time, I was going to the cruise nights for years seeing everyone's pristine traditional cars, couldnt wait to show up with this weird thing
