Is a 2080 ti worth it in 2026?

Hello, I want to upgrade my build with a gpu since i use integrated graphics rn. trying to find a solid budget gpu and ive narrowed it down to the:
2080 ti (around £200-270 pre owned),
arc b580 (around £250-300),
1080 ti (>£200)
I think I’ve cosied up to the 2080 TI the most (looks pretty solid for 1080p/1440p), so i was wondering if it’s still worth it nowadays and if maybe another card in the range was better frames per dollar. Honestly, any card’s an upgrade from integrated graphics and I’d prefer to keep it cheap. Thanks!😊

1080ti too old, don’t buy it 2080ti is fine but maybe will need maintenance, change thermal paste, thermal pads etc What about 5060? Should be the best choose in low to medium budget

i considered a 5060 but id heard that the 8gb vram hits hard in 1440p and it’s a lil bit more than the other options, is it just way better in performance or smth?

2080Ti has more VRAM and is slightly faster than the 5060, which has lower power draw, more modern architecture and can run the latest version of DLSS better.
Does DLSS matter to you?

idek what dlss is ngl

DLSS runs the game at a lower resolution than your monitor is displaying then upscales it, so you get the benefit of running lower resolution (better performance) while not really losing that much image quality.
The new version is magic and greatly improves image quality over the previous version.

If you want 1440p you’re going to want a 9060xt 16gb minimum.

If you're stuck with PCIe 3.0 and don't want to spend more than £270, it's a good choice.
If you're okay with spending £300 on a GPU, you can try to get a used RX 6800 instead. It's significantly faster than the RTX 2080 Ti at gaming.

Currently the MSI Ventus 5060 Ti 8GB is going for £280.
Sure 8GB of VRAM but you’ll have multi frame gen, warranty and the new 007 game is included.
16GB alternative options are £100 more for the 9060 XT 16GB
Depending on the game and the settings, I’d probably say that 2080 Ti may struggle at 1440p, I had a 3070 (performance on par) up until early last year and some newer games started to struggle at the higher frame rates at 1440p. 2080Ti is about on par with an RTX 5060.

2080Ti is actually around the performance of a 3070/4060Ti/5060
Comparable to a 3070 more so because the 4060Ti and 5060 will have frame interpolation and better DLSS 4.5 performance.
But the 2080Ti does have more VRAM (11GB) than the others which all have 8GB and that might matter in some cases.

The 5060 and 9060 XT are going to offer similar performance, but will be supported and receive driver updates for many years to come

is the 8gb with those an issue for 1440p?
Menorah_Fedora@reddit
Oh, right. Forgot the 5060 is an 8 GB card. You may wanna spring the extra $40 for a 5060 Ti (or just get the 9060 XT) so you have 16 GB of VRAM.

Absolutely!
