There's a difference between 8 individually rasterised frames, and 2 rasterised frames with 4 interpolated ones full of glitches and artifacts - not to mention the game logic doesn't update. And then you have the conflict in nVidia's messaging... on the one hand they say you need to have a high frame rate before turning it on, but then they and some publishers say you can use it to achieve barely playable frame rates. So yeah, this "all frames are fake" BS is tiring.

Your premise is shortsighted - while the pixels I think we are discussing are abstract, they are formed via different pipelines. I chose my components last time to be a "superpowered Xbox Series X/PS5" in the hopes that multiplatform games would be well optimized for rdna2/Zen2 (went with Zen3, still don't know why ms and Sony went with the previous gen) and I'm still getting good performance from my RX 6900 Xt, but it is disappointing that it isn't really a 4k 60fps card for new releases.

Micro center was selling the 9070XT for 579 back around new years and I scooped that up real quick. If the prices were similar I’d get a 5070TI no question because of the software features and dlss being much more widely used than fsr4. That all being said my 9070XT has been doing great for me and I have zero complaints outside of wishing FSR4 was as widely used by game devs as DLSS is.

Im only using a 2K monitor and the one game that sticks out to me where it makes a difference is Witcher 3 on ultra+ settings. Which is only one game, but there is definitely a significant performance boost for me from like 40-60fps and choppy to 100+ and stable when using FSR Quality settings. I feel like I enjoy the extra immersion when it’s smooth and stable with upscaling versus lower fps, a little bit choppier performance, but on native graphics. I think when I was tinkering with Cyberpunk I enjoyed the performance boost of FSR enough to justify it versus native max settings. I also have a 7600x3d cpu for reference. So all that being said, yeah, sometimes I think it would be nice to have dlss (especially because you need optiscaler to use anything better than fsr2 or something for Witcher 3) but I still am really enjoying my 9070xt

Given the price parity, it’s a complete no-brainer to me. The only real advantage the 9070XT has (in most markets) is price. For me it’s tougher as the AMD is ~C$1100-1200 vs ~$1400-1500 for the equivalent 5070ti.

I just went from a 7900 xtx to a 5080 and the difference is night and day. Ive been having driving issues with the 7900 for months now. Random crashes, freezing, ect. Did DDU, reinstalled windows, tried all I could. Finally threw in the towel and went and got a 5080. Forza went from high settings 150ish fps (1440p) to 240. Until they get their driver issues figured out I'm staying Nvidia.

Meanwhile I went from a 7900xt to a 5070ti and now my monitor resets to 60hz on every wake-up on the same monitor and cables I used on the 7900xt, I get occasional black flickers depending on the game, and VRR is fucked if a game has 30fps cutscenes. It's not all sunshine.

Give me a SKU with vram for my LLMs, surpass or equal nvenc x265 for Parsec and encoding video, actually be faster than nVidia in 4k 120 HDR 12b color gaming so I don't have buyers remorse. Basically, be better. I'm all about AMD CPUs, I'm glad Intel is getting their teeth kicked in for what they did to gaming post Q6600 where they refused to normalize more cores. AMD video cards need to do that same thing - actually be better - even if they only make single digit profit per card - consider it an investment in mind share and trust. My dad's almost 70 playing the Division 2 on a Ryzen 9800x3D paired with a 1080ti - make today's version of a card with those kind of legs and that's how you end up with that kind of mind share.

Problem with power delivery perhaps? I have 9070 non XT, it crashed few times when I undervolted it too much. My 3070 was crashing in the same circumstances only, so couldn't complain about the stability but the drivers performance thorough 2024 was pretty bad with quite a few nasty surprises for e.g. game suddenly developing stutter, or black screen after monitor sleep that was never resolved.

Different user here, but I have a 9070 and had a constant stream of driver timeouts on a handful of games, and found out that having my secondary monitor on 144hz seemed to be causing it, swapped to 60hz and its never had a problem since. My main monitor still runs 180hz just fine.

If you are doing a lot of video encoding, yes. ARC has hardware support for AV1 and can do multiple streams at once, in real time, which Nvidia artificially prevents you from doing on consumer cards, and the quality is much better than on AMD. Visually it looks almost indistinguishable from software encoding at very slow settings, at very similar bit rates as well.

not really nothing at the high end their strongest consumer card the b580 is on the level of the rtx 5050(although it has 12gb of vram which is nice) On the Ai/ml side though they are honestly pretty solid the b70 at 1k with 32gb of vram is pretty good. Actually manages to beat out the more expensive rx 9700 Ai in many ai/ml tasks despite costing less and being signficantly worse in terms performance

Ive heard the recent Nvidia drivers have had some bumps lately as well but I would probably pay a 20% premium and go back to Nvidia next gen unless the 6070ti suddenly drops under 16gb

I went AMD when I was on windows and glad I did now that I've moved to bazzite. It's not that menu more games will work better I've heard but that there are significantly more problems on Nvidia for games. Pulling numbers out my ass but it's like 2.5% of single player games will have problems on AMD vs 5% on Nvidia. For the most part you'll be ok with either but you'll be doubling your headaches with Nvidia.

As others have said, price. I went with the 7900xtx over the 4080 and 4080S, at the time, because of it. You know the performance difference. I thought I'd use FSR but I have yet to turn it on in any of my games. Mostly because I don't know what games benefit from it and which games are hurt by it. I play online MP COD and Halo a lot. And Dota. I probably don't need upscaling or frame gen for those games. And I think it increases input lag so I'd be even shitter at those games with it enabled. I don't think I care for DLSS and those other features so as long as AMD remains cheaper for similar performance, I'll stick with them for GPUs. And probably CPUs too.

I cannot tell you how many people I've had contact me about AMD driver timeouts and crashes. Not only that, AMD communities as well as Reddit is littered with people selling off 9070 XT's to go Nvidia. Yes, Nvidia drivers sucked with the release of the 5xxx series. They're generally fixed now and I personally have jad zero issues with my 5070 Ti over the past 18 months. The reality is simple. When you create and adapt technology software like Nvidia has, you're gonna have growing pains. Another part of that reality is that historically, it takes AMD much longer to fix their software than it does Nvidia. And whether I was making money with my GPU or just playing games, I want the company who has the resources and drive to fix their shit quick and legacy their older hardware with newer software. That is NOT AMD.

Is all good. It really is a shame that Nvidia behaves so terribly. They have all the money in the world now and they still can’t be assed to put up a decent Linux driver for their customers. It’s actually surprising, considering how hard they push Tegra/Android solutions. You’d think they’d want to get in on the ground floor and compete with the likes of the Deck and the Ally, but maybe they have some sort of Noncompete with the Nintendo Switch consoles.

Ive got plenty of crashes, they arent super frequent but like once every few months ill get a crash while playing a game and get the little amd driver error popup. That being said plenty of driver versions i went completely crash free, then others id crash like once a week. Its not that big a deal but ive definitely had driver problems even if they were more minor

I have run 1080ti 3070 3090ti 6800 6800xt 7800xt and I have never noticed any advantage on nvidia for my PC use case. if I was running 1 single AAA game that demanded extreme graphics resource I would consider using nvidia again for all their software, but for running 8x clients of diablo 2 and streaming AMDs big vram cards have always done plenty fine for me. some people really really really care about high end graphics though I was going more for utility. 3090ti was nice but was overkill for my use.

Be careful about believing FSR4 claims. They are bringing a "version" of fsr4 to your card but since your card is missing required hardware to pull it off it's not going to run properly. If you want to see what I am talking about look for benchmarks of people with 3xxx series Nvidia cards that are trying to run DLSS 4.5. Like technically it looks close to running the game at native resolution but it costs so much to run your avg. FPS is basically no different than than native rendering and there is increased latency, making that version of DLSS meaningless.

for example 5070 ti is 6% better than 9070xt at raz (non rray traced settings) but it's 200+ more, so basically there's a nvidia tax for faster updates/features given, bit better ray tracing, decent to slightly better upscaling in DLSS and DLAA is alot better than the general aa technique of SMAA or TAA, please never use frame generation, they've been lumping into into settings with DLSS/FSR when you turn it on to quality or native (TSAA/DLAA) and you gotta turn FG off.

They lock down their technology, where AMD usually have a more open approach, which shows in Linux driver maturity and how FreeSync monitors are compatible with both AMD and Nvidia cards (whereas Nvidia Gsync monitors are not). As much as I want to go team red, and I have tried, the major problem with AMD is driver stability. The first game I ran into driver issues with AMD was Runescape 3(driver timeout every hour or so), and of course at first I assumed it my user error, until I digged deeper and found out it was a widespread problem. Then I found out about more games with driver timeouts/stutters like FFXIV, Helldivers 2. Everyday I see AMD subreddit talking about driver problems, installing an older driver, DDU time after time. Not everyone has driver issues with AMD because not every game has driver issue with AMD, so it often gives off a feeling that the minority of people who have driver issues must be user error.

I was always a hardcore AMD fanboy when I was younger and in college, but now that I have more disposable income, I buy Nvidia just because DLSS is too good, games that force raytracing run better, and generally speaking their drivers are mostly issue free, at least for me. Not to say that AMD is a bad choice, I'd rather just spend the extra money (probably getting ripped off in the process) to not have to think about it. Nvidia is basically the iPhone of GPUs. They absolutely have awful fucking business practices, scummy pricing, and they gouge as much as they can, but at least you know it will work well.

I purchased the 5070 over the 9070 last November they were roughly the same price. I just prefer Nvidia features, like one thing I like is when I alt-tab it lowers my game FPS to 20 so I end up saving 100w of power when I'm in the matchmaking lobby. I actually have a secondary GPU for display and LSFG which saves me like 2gb of Vram any ways so I didn't really care about extra Vram on the 9070. Resale value is better with Nvidia in my area and it was a nicer model in my opinion as well Asus Tuf vs Sapphire Pulse.

I love their CPUs, but I'm too damaged from my bad experience to want to go back. I'd rather pay more and have more steady performance. It would take probably either a HUGE jump in NVIDIA pricing, a big drop in their driver functionality without quick fix, or a combination of the two for me to want to give it a go again. Yes, I know it has been a while. But I haven't really heard enough change that I'm willing to risk it for the biscuit. I'm a dad of six with limited finances and game time...I can't afford to waste either if I want to play.

Well, I wanted something faster than the 4080 that I had previously, and since AMD has nothing in this tier, I just settled with the 5080 (which was a huge disappointment btw, but I paid the same price as I sold my 4080 for a few months before, so it wasn't that bad of a deal). Anyways, I'd consider buying an AMD card again, if they could at least finally offer a feature set as good as Nvidia does. FSR is getting to a point where it's pretty close to DLSS, which is good, tho game support is kinda meh. However, they still don't have any alternative to RTX HDR, which is one of my favorite features (and their alternative to VSR was also not that great last time when I tried it). Heavy RT/PT performance is also pretty ass, which is another reason why I'm currently stuck with Nvidia. I'm buying a high-end GPU to enjoy the best possible graphics - but sadly, we are currently at a point where PT is heavy af to run, it's barely even possible to get a decent FPS even with the 5080.

Price. I want a PC that runs Factorio (and KSP) really well. CPU is the more likely the bottleneck than GPU for those games, so I bought the best CPU for the use case at the time. That didn't leave as much left over for the GPU. An all AMD system gave the best 'bang for buck' for what I needed and it's still going strong. The only thing I regret is not buying more RAM when it was "cheap". 'I'll upgrade later' really hasn't worked out.

Well we just bought another one. 9070xt. Why? Because it’s a Linux build for a home theater pc. I’ve tested Linux on my main pc with a 5070ti, and there’s just too many issues directly due to nvidia drivers on Linux. For the most part the games boot right up and run. However, enabling HDR becomes a hassle on many games because nvidia doesn’t have support for it on Linux directly. AMD just works out of the box for Linux. I went with the 5070ti over the 9070xt originally due to DLSS being better and raytracing, which I knew I’d use with a 4k monitor. I do not regrets that decision, and the price difference at the time was not much more. I’ve used primarily nvidia through the years (because only recently has AMD been good). But I have no qualms with AMD gpu and i haven’t experienced any of these infamous driver issues. I’ve owned: 960, rx 580, the goated 1080ti, 6800xt, 5070ti, and now also a 9070xt. I guess I flip flop lol. I went with a 6800xt as the upgrade because evga stopped making nvidia cards. They were the only brand I trusted, and they’ve earned it too by offering a free replacement of that very 960 even when it was out of warranty. RIP Evga, now only selling power supplies that are really old, but still fine.

What are you even doing with the PC? Productivity means nothing if you aren't utilizing the PC for productivity. People always like to say "Nvidia is better for productivity and content creators", then those same people buy a 5090, and then do nothing but play games and never use the features they supposedly bought the card for. I went with a 9070xt this go around, and it's been far better than my experience was with Nvidia. Driver updates are once every 3-6 months instead of every week for every single new game, performance is solid, and I'm not worried about burning my house down (maybe a little, because I bought a Sapphire Nitro+, bit the Pulse and Pure use 2x8pin). For what I use my PC for, I personally wouldn't see any reason to buy Nvidia again.

Price/performance/use case I recently upgraded my primary pc from a 6950 xt to a 9070 xt paired with a 13900k and 64gb ddr 4 , and it runs great , 160-180fps in arc raider on epic setting and holds 240fps(capped) in Fortnite with gfx turned down as usual , both at 1440p and then i came across a deal for a 5080/9800x3d prebuilt to use as a console replacement for my couch gaming setup that i primarily play arc raiders on , the 5080 pc performed well with 180+ fps at 1440p on epic setting but i could feel no difference from my other build as far as quality and smoothness and the price difference was huge so i tried a few other games to see if maybe it just didn’t excel in those games but would wow me in other games and it did not so i returned it and headed to micro center and built me a 9950x3d/9070xt build for less than the 5080 build with higher quality parts and am very satisfied with it - So for my use AMD has always worked better and even previous I sold my 3090 build to go with a 6950xt because it held steadier frame rates , others will swear by nvidia because the software , but that isn’t a factor for me .

I just bought a Radeon Pro AI R9700 32GB to replace my RX 9070 in what was my gaming rig that's becoming my temporary AI rig (that can also game). Assuming I make progress with this, and assuming RAM ever becomes more affordable, I intend to buy another one of those cards, some RAM, a motherboard/CPU/PSU, then I'll move those GPUs into a more appropriate case than the Fractal Ridge it's currently in, then put my RX 9070 back where it started. To change that plan, I'll need a new GPU from Nvidia that will be more powerful than two of those GPUs for less than the cost of those parts.

For me, it’s always about price-to-performance. However, I’ve been basically a full-time Linux user since 2001 and only use Windows when I absolutely have to. Because of that, AMD is an easy choice for me. Their GPUs generally “just work” on Linux, while NVIDIA typically requires installing third-party drivers and dealing with occasional quirks and compatibility issues. That being said, my current GPU in my main rig is a 4080 and my laptop is a 4060. But if AMD closes the gap in the next generation I will go with AMD in all my machines.

For me, it’s basically: AMD, if I mostly care about raw gaming value and VRAM. NVIDIA, if I’m doing anything AI/productivity related, seriously. CUDA is honestly still a huge advantage once you step outside pure gaming. But if someone mostly plays rasterised games and wants better price/performance, AMD starts looking really attractive fast. I also think people underestimate how much DLSS/frame gen influences decisions now. Once you get used to it, it’s hard to fully ignore.

Since my first GPU (GTX 470), I've always gone Nvidia, however , I finally went with AMD this time around with the 9070 (non-XT). For me, it was commiting to be 100% on Linux and not dual booting anymore after Win10 support was ending. Although my Nvidia GPU's would work a good chunk of the time on Linux, I would always have some random issues with the drivers. Once I decided to ditch Windows, I decided that was the time to go AMD. In my 7 months of owning this AMD GPU, I have nothing but great things to say about it and my Linux experience. It's been quite perfect and I haven't had to deal with any driver issues so far. I game on it almost every day.

For me it was a matter of AMD being slightly less incredibly avariciously evil when compared with Nvidia. AMD isn’t making the news with their plans on ending consumer computing and replacing it with a subscription model, for instance. AMD also doesn’t seem as desirous as Nvidia to make far fewer GPUs on purpose than the market desires in order to keep prices high so that people will welcome a subscription model when it comes. Price. Nvidia if all things equal. Other than that, i go for whatever's cheaper. If I had to debate VRAM vs DLSS/RTX, I'd go with VRAM (within reason). My last card I went AMD. Here's the rationale. Late 2022 prices were: RX 6600- $190 RX 6650 XT- $230 RTX 3050- $280 RTX 3060- $340 RX 6700 XT- $350 Nvidia was out of their mind with that price structure, so I went for the 6650 XT. I didnt wanna spend more than $300. My next card will be decided by similar pressures. Who offers a better overall package sub $300? (I plan to wait out RAMpocalypse so I'm assuming prices will drop to something resembling "normal" by 2028). If I bought in late 2025, I'd probably see the 9060 XT for $270 as the best value option, but the 5060 for $300 wasnt bad either. I'd place around a 10% price premium on Nvidia's features so I would be debating the two decently, although quite frankly, given the 8 GB VRAM on both, I'd obviously prefer NOT to buy. I already got an 8 GB card. I dont want 8 GB AGAIN.

I currently have a 7900XTX and the card works perfectly fine for my use, I occasionally use Blender to render and I can use the hardware accelerated ray tracing there and it has worked very well when I had to use it on Davinci Resolve, the 24GB of VRAM came very handy. The one thing where I wished I went with Nvidia is for VR but al least here it would have been more then twice as expensive to get a card that performed on the same level even if you take the VRAM out of the equation. What I mean with VR is that Nvidia has a lot of tweaks and optimizations that can take load off you CPU and in general just work smarter and gives you a performance advantage even if the card has less raw power in comparison, unless the price difference was minimal I'd get it again since I also like Linux and AMD works much better with a lot less setup. I just wished they stopped shooting themselves in the foot whenever the make a launch.

Performance, cooling and noise/silence (really dislike a noisy PC or environment in general). My current GPU is the RTX 4080 Noctua Edition, and that thing is really fucking silent. It's pretty much the best/most silent GPU I've had in the past 20 or so years. I'm not into watercooling, so I don't really factor those into it. If anything from AMD can measure up to XX70-XX80 performance, when I need to switch again, while still being very silent and keeping it cool; I'm all in.

My decision point was RAPIDS CuML. If you've ever used modin for large datasets, you know why I was happy to pay the Nvidia tax and swap from Intel Arc to Nvidia. This is one of those it depends on what you want to do with the GPU things. I'm not a gamer. I use local llms. I train tiny LLMs for specific tasks. I'm really into machine learning. I went from an early cuda Nvidia to an AMD to an Intel Arc that I stuck with for years and am now back to a pair of Nvidias. I prefer to spend my time playing <<cough, experimenting>> with data to hunting down which antique/compromised version of a module works with this Intel fork of a module.

I like amd for prices being less highers than nvidia, yeah, it doesn't offer the DLSS 789 version that can do 4k from a 2p image, but generally being open-source makes amd way more community-friendly, i mean, there are HD cards still being maintained today because of it. Wanna use the MFG? pay for it. it's not something we can choose of, having it or not, it's about money, so i stick with amd because even if i would like to have better features, i don't even like the whole idea of having to use DLSS to run a game as it should... or having to use MFG to match the fucking unnecessary 480hz of a monitor that costed me same as the card i bought, this whole industry is shit and we're paying them like blind dogs when they smell roast beef. I usually factor on 3 things below. Your OS - Linux works way better with AMD. Windows either one is fine. Pricing - If mid range, AMD has more bang for buck (greater RAM etc). If money ain't your concern, Nvidia. AI Usage - Nvidia still edges out. But AMD has gotten better support now. Lowest cost possible? Intel B580. Downside, you will need to troubleshoot or use 3rd party tool like DXKV for older games and apps. If you can't be bother to troubleshoot, look for the cheapest 16 gb 9060 XT. Buy 8 gb 9060 / 5060 at your own risk.

Price is a factor, but I have been fully loyal since the ATI Graphics days when I saved up and bought my ATI Radeon X1950 XTX and built my own PC for the first time.

There would have to be a massive price difference in favor of AMD for me to forego Nvidia. I have a 7800xtx and it just never performed like my 4090 did. Moved to 5090 now and AMD isn’t in that end of the market anymore so unlikely I would anyway. Very comfortable with Nvidia software and DLSS.

It's always about drivers for me. So always AMD. Nvidia doesn't have decent Linux drivers. I might consider Intel if they make something cheaper/faster/cooler than AMD.

Price Vs performance for me. Currently using a water cooled 3090 and it's fine for now, I intend on getting as much life out of it as I got out of my old air cooled 980Ti before jumping ship to AMD, I'm not paying more than 1k for a gpu if I have a choice lol

AMD most likely, but if Nvidia is way cheaper then sure. I used to be indifferent, then Nvidia got really scummy around 10 years back and I switched to AMD. Nvidia is still worse but AMD has pulled some garbage as well recently.

AMD doesn't make as many GPUs per each generation now, so less offerings in general. Nvidia at least still releases a whole slew of different options, vram and TDP to choose from. Also as a VR user, I think I'd rather have access to DLSS.

really price, but the driver issues with the 9070XT ive been seeing online(exaggerated or not) have kinda scared me off the card and pushed me towards the 5070ti. plus, DLSS has more support and less friction compared to FSR. finally, i bought a 2070 almost 8 years ago now and it has served me perfectly with basically 0 issues. I am happy to pay the nvidia tax for what i feel is a higher quality product.

I currently own a 7800XT, it was the best price-performance ratio a couple years back when I built my rig. If I had to pick my next, I'd aim for a flagship card, either 80 or 90 tier for it to be a meaningful upgrade, and that would have to be Nvidia. As much as I love team red, you can't deny that they've given up on the flagship market. I don't really care for DLSS or frame generation, I always run with those turned off, but the better RT performance is something interesting, and AMD simply can't touch the 80-90 tier cards. Even when they did have flagship cards with the 7900XTX, it simply couldn't compete with Nvidia's 4090.

Price exclusively. I loved my 3070ti, albeit mainly because I got it at MSRP during the crypto mining craze and it was the exact model I wanted (EVGA FTW3U). I upgraded due to some issues playing games like Helldivers 2. Love my 9070xt but I truly wish it didn’t have a 12VHPWR cable. When I upgrade next it’s exclusively what performs best at the price range I am willing to spend, hopefully Intel is competing by then too!

I went from a 2080S to a 9070 (non xt) because it was the only card that provided both double the performance, double the VRAM, and cost less than what I paid for the 2080S. The 5070 didn’t have the VRAM I wanted and the 5070TI was more expensive than the 9070 and 9070XT.

As much as we hate it, framegen and AI are the future. AMD is going to have to catch up for me to feel like their GPU's will be as "ai proof" as they should be to get as much value down the road. I don't want to buy a new gpu every few years. I want to hope that the one I buy now will still just work with whatever new framegen tech exists to push the value beyond what we can get from just the hardware.

It really depends at the time. I've been using AMD since the x570. Currently using the same gpu I've had for 3 years now, the 7900xtx. I live the product and price. If AMD continues to improve their features I'll stay, if not I'll go nvidia. Won't know for a while though, I'd like to make this card last until 2030 before i do a full rebuild. Still on am4 with my 5800x3d too so we'll see when am6 comes out.

I've had nVidia since the Riva TNT (and Voodoo before that) and never had driver issues. Got an ATI card at one time and the drivers were a mess! Went straight back to Nvidia, it just works for me. Currently I have a 3070 and won't be upgrading for a while. I'll wait and see what's available in a few years.

I'd love AMD to catch up but right now if I want the best I'd go with Nvidia, software support is better and (fair or not) there are games that have Nvidia exclusive features, PT in Pragmata and Requiem being the latest examples.

Nvidia software support has fallen off over the past year or so. AMD drivers are as good or better right now. Plus if you aren't buying a 5080 or better, AMD is caught up. As for exclusive features, it depends how much you care about upscaling and ray tracing. Though AMD has decent upscaling now as well, and the RT performance is fine.

I mean DLSS support in older gens vs FSR, AMD spent months sitting with FSR4 code that works in RDNA2 and 3 and refused to release it; now it's coming to RX 7000 in July but 6000 owners have to wait 6 months minimum to get it. I care a lot about Upscaling and RT/PT if I can run it, my 4070ti has served me well so far. Next gen I'll wait for reviews but I'm shooting for a 6070ti, unless AMD does something really good, I'm willing to pay more for the better feature set.

If I could afford a Nvidia then yeah, I kinda miss DLSS (especially DLAA) from my 3060. But I’ll probably use and stay with AMD my 9070xt until I dies before I ever change back. Optiscaler has been wonderful for the FSR, but it’s not the same as native DLAA :/ I just wish more games would support FSR 4 natively

I'm never buying AMD GPUs again after this RX 6800. I was warned about their history of driver issues and i ignored it, being optimistic about their market share and rising popularity. At the end of the day, they're still very good GPUs for good prices and value (high VRAM like you said), but they're always and i mean always late to the party when it comes to new game stability. It's time after time as well, every new title I've played since i got the card. At this point in life I'm ok with less performance per dollar if it means I'm less likely to deal with day 1 driver issues.

Depends on the use case really. If your doing a build for both gaming & heavy multitasking depending on the task & budget isn't much of an issue then splurge on the best Nvidia GPU you can get. If mostly just gaming & general web browsing in 1080p & 1440p any current AMD GPU will do ideally a 9060 16GB or 9070. Currently using a Nvidia 4070 12GB since 2023 & it's been great for AAA gaming in 1080p & 1440p but considering switching to AMD for both CPU & GPU when I'm ready for a new build since both Nvidia & Intel has been going down a bad road lately & value hasn't improved on them much. I also kinda like the idea of the GPU & CPU made by one company.

Id need to see a big jump in upscaling and frame gen technology and see better support for their older models. Yeah a kind of chopped up fsr4 eventually came to the older series but makes me nervous. Also im a sucker for lighting so patb tracing or their version would be nice

At current pricing? It's basically AMD AMD AMD unless you're an Nvidia fanboy, or need CUDA. DLSS isn't much better than FSR anymore, same with RT, slightly better but not meaningfully.
