Supposedly the 61 isn’t a great indicator because they “supposedly” retroactively fixed all rifles dated 2023 and newer on the QC sheet in your box.

I’ve had two 61 year rifles. One was from 2021 and now a new one last week. The new one was QC’d in 2023 and was told by Arsenal that it was new production so I didn’t have to worry about the over gas issues. Plan on shooting it next week to see how it goes

Bolt carrier slamming/peening the rear trunnion or receiver. If you open your Sam 5 and notice wear at the rear of the trunnion or bolt, it’s over gassed and literally destroying itself.

Because the Beryl going price during its production run was consistently $1500 and less. Its current pricing is because it’s no longer being produced. Completely different than a rifle with an absurd MSRP.

Either that or a Zastava M90, both are ~1300. Personally I'd go with the Rommie cos of the KNS, dong, and standardized AK parts. Do note that it's a "battlefield pickup" so the finish won't be as clean as the Zastava and the Zastava comes with a Zhukov and Hogue grip if you're gonna tafticool it up.

No, the only time we will warranty the rifle for concentricity is if the model is an ASR model. ASR meaning Arsenal Suppressor Ready. See our standard response below for concentricity in the AK platform:
In general, the AK was not intended to be suppressed so there is no guarantee that the threads are concentric on any AK we manufacture. The cold hammer forging process for the barrels, hammering small thick barrel out to thinner and longer one, doesn’t allow for the exact tolerances needed for guaranteed concentric threads. Additionally the threaded 24x1.5 mm RH combo gas blocks/FSB are manufactured independently from the barrels so they aren’t made to be a perfect match. This process is fine for the muzzle brakes and flash hiders that have the tolerance built in to prevent baffle strikes, but not ideal for suppressor mounting. If you have a direct barrel thread in 14x1 mm LH the concentricity issue may not be as big an issue.
To be safe with any AK, regardless of manufacturer, we always suggest gauging the barrel to ensure the threads are concentric and you won’t get any baffle strikes. There are so many different tolerances between the suppressor manufacturers bore sizes that failure to do so may end up destroying one with a baffle strike after a few shots. You can have a qualified gunsmith check it on your behalf for safety or buy a correct size gauge rod for your caliber and test on your own.

I have rifles from the 1950s with concentric threads.
I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm a machinist for a living. My shop would not get any business if we couldn't cut things concentric, square or parallel, whether we are cutting castings, forgings, extrusions, etc.

Also don’t sell NOS from a known bad batch and blow off people’s concerns even if you fixed the issues? Maybe don’t make people pay for their return shipping label when their “premier” rifle you supposedly test fired doesn’t work?

I ordered suppressor rods in 7.62 to make sure but that statement makes it seem like you guys know it more than likely will be an issue and I think for this price point it shouldn't be an issue and also something we are told before we buy especially in this day and age where everyone is looking to shoot suppressed. It would really suck to spend so much on these and not be able to shoot them suppressed.

My SAM5, from this sale, is overgassed and literally beating the rear trunnion and the rear of the bolt/carrier and i only shot 120 rds. Now i have to pay my own return shipping to send back a gun that should have functioned to begin with. They could at least have sent me a return shipping label for my troubles, God knows how long itll take to get it back

Arsenal has become pretty high on my list of “do not buy again” companies in the AK world. They’re not the worst, but I should have gotten better for what I paid. My upper handguard retainer was cracked. You could probably pry it apart if you wanted. Well under the 1000 round mark my rsa broke and sent the dust cover into my face. I shot it for several hundred rounds and it was mostly ok, but the 1 time I bring it out with someone else watching, that happened. The way I feel is just that they have no business being in this price bracket. Either I just got really unlucky, or these are garbage and no one knows because they don’t shoot enough.

Kvar said they had my dealer's info on file but my order confirmation said they still needed it from my dealer. As soon as my dealer sent it to them, Kvar shipped in a couple hours. I think you have to send your FFL to them even if they say they have it, which kind of stinks, but at least they shipped fast once they got it.

It's an XK 61, doesn't seem to have the over gassing issue. I did throw in a heavier wolff spring just in case due to the reputation of the 61s but I haven't put the KNS piston in or anything and it just shoots very smoothly

What's the batch number for the SAM7R-62s being sold?

First: there's no such thing as "batch numbers" for these rifles. Bulgaria started indicating manufacturing year in 1960, so 1960 is considered year zero. You take the 2 numbers after the 2 letters in the 8 character serial number to find out manufacturing year. For example, if your serial number was AB 60 1234 your manufacturing year would be 2020.
Second: I have no idea what serial numbers the online retailer has for the SAM7R-62. Usually, any online retailer gets product shipped in bulk and then pull out what's needed when an order comes in, they aren't picking manufacturing dates, just the inventory that is next in line on their storage shelf. The firearm they pull out for a sale may have been one sitting there for a while or may have been just received as new inventory.
