An exhaustive list of all the no name/alphabet soup e-bike brands

Yes, you read it right; and yes, I actually took the time to research more of those no name/alphabet soup e-bike brands that we all know and love. Am I crazy for even doing this? Maybe, but why the hell not? Anyways, without further ado, here's an exhaustive list of all of those brands that I compiled (P.S.: If any of you have come across any other such e-bike brands that are not somewhere on this list, please feel free to drop them on here, and I'll gladly add it.)

I don’t know what to do with this information
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Okay, wasn't asking you to do anything with it, so...
All of those dropship e-bikes just intrigued me, that's all.
MicahToll@reddit
Seems like OP included a bunch of legit companies and has been slowly removing them, but still plenty of 5+ year legit companies in this list. Just a reminder to everyone that just because a company is “Chinese” or has a name that isn’t a dictionary word doesn’t mean they aren’t good or legit. But yeah, many of these are garbage.
altarr@reddit
Wait until op finds out where all of the parts for the "real" companies come from.
Consistent-Display63@reddit
I have a Fucare gemini. great bike so far
ss1959ml@reddit
I read that as F*ck you care.
ScaryPearls@reddit
Some of these are so bad, especially the ones that are weird combos of capital letters, which seems to be common for Amazon drop shipped garbage.
Like I just assume that QUKAITU or QRONGE bikes are going to immediately catch on fire.
robbiekaene@reddit
Thanks for the tip buddy
donaldgoldsr@reddit
I have Qikaiku I bought used. It's serviceable. It's not great, it's not bad. I did look up the brand and advertising before buying it and, of course, it's nothing like the ad says.
HombreDeBrandon@reddit
Built a QRONGE e-trike for a customer one time. Biggest piece of shit I ever rode in my entire life, and I’ve worked with at least 30+ bikes off this list. Thing was so wobbly, the frame was bolted together not welded, a masterclass in cheap bullshit.
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
It's like they're not even trying.
Fine-Art-9701@reddit
This was back in December I have over 4,000 miles on my euybike now. It does have it flaws like I had to put duct tape around the seat post because it kept falling at 1st. I had to change out the stock tires because every 200 miles I was getting a flat. The foundation is there. For a $600-$700 bike you can't beat it you just need to know how to improve on it which is expected when you buy cheap. I like that they have their own website also so you can buy a spare battery
robbiekaene@reddit
Thanks! And now ide like to know which brands are a no no to buy?! Please 😉
Ok-Type-8917@reddit
I've bought three brands of ebikes. The least satisfying experience was my Rad, five years ago they were a go to brand. Lectric makes me feel guilty sometimes because they have helped me beyond expectations. The surprise was my Gotrax I bought for a winter bike, bulletproof for now.
mayorlittlefinger@reddit
Why do they make you feel guilty?
Ok-Type-8917@reddit
Hit by a car and I asked how to order parts. They asked for pictures and sent them for free. I had issues out of warranty that they'd walk me through.
mayorlittlefinger@reddit
That's just being a good company
gigawright@reddit
Stories like that are likely to earn them more sales. It certainly influenced my decision.
STL4jsp@reddit
Same literally messed up my motor cable and contacted customer support to a video if the error and they sent me a brand new bike tire and motor. And it was a month out of warrenty.
Good_With_Tools@reddit
I have 2 Lectric bikes. A 1st gen and a trike. Both have been solid. Their bikes are... fine. Their company ethos is top tier.
Icy-Tradition242@reddit
Our Gotrax has been great!
etchlings@reddit
lol. Velotric isn’t some keyboard smash company. They’re the spinoff of the brand that makes half the municipal e-bike systems.
CelticJewelscapes@reddit
Lectric is based in Phoenix.
STL4jsp@reddit
Lectric as great customer service I messed uo my motor cable and they shipped me a brand new back tire and motor for free
poubelle@reddit
i think heybike is semi-legit too. they sell them in local ebike stores at least.
BC999R@reddit
Haibike was legit; I thought Heybike was a knockoff. But Blix is legit.
acobildo@reddit
Tenways is a Dutch brand and is a quality bike with good support from my experience.
placeholder5point0@reddit
Unless OP edited the list, I'm not seeing Velotric?
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Yeah, I edited and realized that one other poster was wrong about those specific brands.
placeholder5point0@reddit
Yeah, that other commenter seems like the type of person that thinks any ebike under $3-5k is trash. 🙄
Unlucky_Battle_6947@reddit
Some can cost 3-5k and still be trash.
etchlings@reddit
Must’ve. ‘Twas there.
hi_jack23@reddit
Same goes for Himiway lmao I see their bikes in local shops more than most of the commonly discussed brands on this sub
Fioricascastle@reddit
Both of my bikes are on this list ha. Mokwheel and magicycle. No issues for what it's worth.
ukmawm@reddit
You missed Cyrusher and eliglide that I know of for sure, the first has the only duo sensor (cadence+torque) that negates the need for a throttle and I actually owned an eliglide m1 a few years ago, nice ebike for the price.
poubelle@reddit
velotric has bikes you can switch between torque and cadence also
Mike_Player_Of_Games@reddit
I’m not 100% clear on the intent of this list but if it’s meant to represent “fly by night”, dropship, cheap, online only ebikes, then I don’t think Fiido belong on this list. My wife and I just bought a T2 long tail cargo bike and we bought it because at least 3 local bike shops around us in London carried and support Fiido with local inventory, and service and maintenance. Additionally I was told by all of them that Fiido have a European factory and warehouse.
We’ve only had the bike for a few weeks and so far so good, but in my research they apparently had a structural issue with a previous generation folding bike and they went out of their way to honor warranty and seem to have addressed the issue in all future bikes. They have a good website and a pretty extensive accessory and parts section.
st174ar@reddit
Wildeway is missing from this list. Have 2500km on mine, no problems. Big battery - I believe it is really 30ah. Though I did recently replaced brakes with aftermarket hydraulic Zoom Brakes, and difference is unbelievable.
djhostile@reddit
I love my CyberVelo EK11. Cost $350 at AliExpress on sale with coupons. LG cells, amazing range. I actually de-tuned it to cap at 28mph. 30w solar panel and a top case (added by me). Love this thing for running errands. Hundreds of miles and no issues.
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Sweet ride you got there! Glad it's treated you well so far.
poubelle@reddit
"puckipuppy" is one i always chuckle at. i can't believe people ride around without covering up that stupid name.
Euphoric_Sherbet2954@reddit
I have three years on my Ridstar. I’ve driven it hard and pulled trailers all offroad, no issues yet. It’s been a great bike.
skima_0@reddit
Until it catches on fire lol. Upgrading the battery on mine.
Destroyer-Marauder@reddit
How about the worst ebike ever made: Reevo.
This piece of shit is the worst ebike I have ever ridden. The brakes totally suck. Suspension is nonexistent. It makes more noise than a freight train when you ride it. And if you accidentally spin the pedals with the kickstand up, the ebike takes off on its own. It's just plain nasty. It has only one redeeming factor: It looks cool as hell.
Mitrovarr@reddit
If you haven't seen the Berm Peak video on the Reevo, go do yourself a favor and watch it.
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
That's the exact one I watched!
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Saw a video of someone riding and going over the Reevo. No way I'd take a test ride on that one!

masssy@reddit
I agree they are very decent for the price and generally a step or two from the bottom brands.
thirtynation@reddit

I've put 1972 miles on my Baicycle. It was a cheap Amazon framework of a cargo bike, but I added tons of accessories and lights and made it my own

GrandLakerOldTimer@reddit
If you think about it-Who has been the manufacturing hub for 30+ years? who has led battery tech because of where they manufacture most cellphones, including Apple and Samsung? that’s how CYB grew so fast - battery tech. Unfortunately, the US has focused on Finance, spreadsheets, Fossil fuel exports for profit instead, and killed the R&D of that competition and here we are. Way behind! Unfortunately China has invested heavily in Electrification and has increased Electricity Generation 7x since 2000, and doesn’t have for profit transmission grid issues like here preventing so scale. Hopefully that begins to change in the US, but E-Bikes have been adversely affected as well. this is my opinion as to why China E-Bike manufacturers have an upper hand now-they’be invested a ton into that infrastructure and manufacturing.

How horrible someone who actually bought the bikes give their opinion on it.
_ANOMNOM_@reddit
I didn't say they were bad. I am aware that ALL of these companies source their parts from the same places lol.
Alvarius@reddit
I have a Jasion X-Hunter that I'm very pleased with. There was an issue with the hinge to fold down the handlebars, and they sent me a new part right away. They sent me the electrical plug for the EU model when I live in the USA, but it's a bog standard part so I bought one on Amazon and they reimbursed me (the power supply is fortunately auto-switching). The only change I made was changing the mechanical disc brakes to hybrid pull-hydraulic brakes (Zoom branded, dirt cheap) and I can stop like a champ.
MeximeltExtraCheese@reddit
lol Macfox does not belong on this list
zaragon567@reddit
You forgot an Italian brand name, FANTIC. I bought a new bicycle from them and it's quite good, with a Yamaha pw-x3 motor and rockshock shock absorber.
Their site https://fanticbikes.com/
GrandLakerOldTimer@reddit
I have 25,000+ miles on various E-bikes since 2022. Tried 9 different brands. Pickipuppy isn’t junk but I did have a throttle/controller issue on one of the 3 we had and eventually they sent me a new bike. Aventon has decent customer service, we have 8 of them. Velotric has been solid so far, just 900 miles on it so I cannot attest to the customer service. Surprisingly, the customer service on these Chinese e-bikes has been superior to my experiences with American Brands in some way..I’ve received 4 replacement motors when the became slightly noisy, and too many free replacement components to mention. I think there may be some fear mongering campaigns going on to dissuade ICE users from trying these “dangerous and unreliable low powered EVs for “some reason”.. Seems consistent...Yet 85% of the global spend on energy is not Fossil..except in the US. not sure, but these phenomena could be connected…
little_boxes_1962@reddit
Isn't Velowave a legit company?
WORD_2_UR_MOTHA@reddit
Mine is great. LG cells and I believe they're based in Washington state.
WORD_2_UR_MOTHA@reddit
I have the Velowave Ranger for the last 4yrs and I like it. LG calls and Bafang motor, and I think they're based in Washington with some repair shops around, although I haven't used them.

I put 1800 miles on a Varun, decided I. Needed something bigger. It still works fine. Imout almost 3000 on a Totguard. It still works but the LED is flashing. They're all the same products under different names.
david-saint-hubbins@reddit
I assume 90% of these are coming from the same handful of factories, no?
Longjumping-Quail806@reddit
Trafly
Wants-NotNeeds@reddit
I would be interested in how many names drop off the list in a year or two. Everyone wants a piece of the ebike pie until they start failing and service is required.
greggers1980@reddit
I skipped all these and went straight to well known and established brands
Eastern_Leading_4394@reddit
No Hiboy?
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Okay, as an owner of the Hiboy U2 Pro, I should probably add this brand on here.
Nicky2Nuts@reddit
Nice list. Here is a note on 1 brand on your list and a bit on a bike that may be missing from the list. I own a Philodo Falcon with 8000 miles on it and zero problems. It is my only vehicle and am glad I chose it. I misthreaded the right pedal and they replaced it free of charge. It had a ding in the paint from shipping and they gave me a jar of touch-up paint for free. I paid less than $2000 all in directly from their website and that included an extra battery and a rack bag and shipping. They ship from the US if you are here in the States. Not sure about elsewhere. I didn’t see HeyBike on the list. Maybe you all disagree but my last bike was a HeyBike Mars 2.0 and everything about the Falcon is better. Granted the HeyBike was less expensive so I expected an improvement however they are worlds apart. Customer service was not nearly as good with HeyBike which on a bike that has basically the same build as tons of others on the market is super important to me. I know this sub is not a fan of the speedier bikes but it has 5 different limiting options, one of which limits speed to 20 another that limits to 28 mph. Not technically legal but it looks and acts like a bike. I live in a relatively large city suburb and cops have no issues with me.
TheFlightlessDragon@reddit
I had an Ecotric for a while, not a bad bike at all honestly. Not saying the brand is overall good, but my experience was.
In retrospect though, I probably would’ve been better off getting a more well known brand for like $150 more.
thoushaltnot@reddit
Urtopia Carbon 1 Pro rider here. It’s a good brand. Have had no issues in 2 years.
Minute-Daikon6229@reddit
I got a Funhang it's honestly solid for under 400 bucks I've got 80 miles or so on it currently, only complaint was the seat
Hungry_Rest1182@reddit
Hynox, just do 3 models of folders. I have their "Trooper X", like a Heybike Ranger Pro with better suspension, brakes and a juiced up 750 watt hub motor- 1600 watt peak and 100 nm torque ( battery reads 54 volts at full charge). So far it's pretty good.
Yep, seems like the Wild Wild West of Chinese Ebikes ATM. Facebook algorithm throws all sorts of Alphabet Soup Ebikes at me, some pretty tempting. Of course, have to point out that almost all Ebikes, including those big names some folks on this sub think are the ones only worth buying, are 100% made in China. Yeah dealer network and CS count, of course, but you are paying $$ for it.
FinnaSmash69@reddit
I got 75 miles on my aipas f3 max adventure big tire and I can’t complain a bit

As for my experience with any of the off-brand e-bikes I listed here...
Back in August 2024, I got myself the Sohoo S115 used for $800 as my first e-bike. Despite the numerous issues I had the misfortune of dealing with – multiple flats, loose brakes, kickstand falling off, the rear rack straps bouncing off, the seatpost becoming loose while I rode – I still have it as my main mode of transportation (well, this and my Hiboy U2 Pro as a backup) to this day and still quite like it. I even have Tannus Armour installed in each tire to prevent hardly any more flats. Game changer. I also find Sohoo's customer service to be decent, except the only problem I have with them now is that they somehow sent me the wrong battery for my e-bike. It's because I would like to extend my range for longer trips or adventures. Still, I'm overall content with my Sohoo S115. 🩵
allertonm@reddit
Biktrix should not be on this list. I can’t speak the quality of their bikes but they are a Canadian company and have actual bricks and mortar showrooms as well as a dealer network. The bikes are not especially cheap.
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Noted.
bettaboy123@reddit
I had a Heybike, and that thing was a piece of junk. I rode it for many years, and upgraded a lot of components to get it going that long.
I liked it enough that we bought my husband one. Big mistake. It lasted 7 months (about 700 miles) before the battery failed and they wouldn’t do anything about it.
My friend also bought one and had significant problems. Didn’t work out and she decided to buy an analogue bike instead.
I have since upgraded to a Velotric. My battery no longer wants to charge after 7 months (and about 2,000 miles), and while they’re taking care of it, the battery itself isn’t in stock and won’t be until late June. I’m glad they’re honoring the warranty, but I’m a little peeved that they didn’t have any stock for warranty claims. Hoping to have it back sooner rather than later.
TopRepulsive4766@reddit
Good experience with TST. My neighbour bought his son a TST R002. The boy has had it over four months now and it's been running flawlessly. It keeps up with us easily when we go riding. It climbs hills fine. I has decent range. For a relatively cheap ebike, I think it performs well.

Its not a ebike. More moped like the super73 style. Doesn't need to be up there. Although kudos for putting this list and wow.. thats a lot of companies
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
I have a Sohoo e-bike myself and owned it for nearly two years now. My first e-bike, and I got it used for $800. Still going strong, even after the multiple issues I've had with it. It's their S115 beach cruiser model, by the way.
SwollenMexican@reddit
Nice! I got their s128. The folding one. My wife uses it now since I got the moped style one but it hasnt given me any issues. I was thinking of getting another battery for it but was bummed out they dont offer a dual battery setup. Would be nice.. hows the beach cruiser setup? Pretty smooth?
AdIndependent3610@reddit (OP)
Cool! What's the name of that moped style e-bike that you have?
I still quite like the beach cruiser set-up, and I would say it's still smooth overall. I now hardly get may flats on my Sohoo S115 (used to quite a lot) since I have Tannus Armour installed in each tire.
SwollenMexican@reddit
Dude tannus armor is a blessing. I gotten so many flats until I said F it and paid the extra for it. No flats yet haha. I have the monday motorbike anza v4 as the moped style) chill guys out in long beach.

To be fair the brand "Askmy" is actually a good brand I have an ebike by them and it works good and has a 20Ah battery so it has range the only downside for me is the small wheels which while not impossible to pedal make it difficult if the battery runs out so I wish the wheel size was a little bit larger

800km so far with Jasion G26. Perfect forest memories with a €388 emtb :) Have to arrange rear brakes almost after every ride 😂Also not sure if front suspension works properly or not.

RoundSyrup4424@reddit
That's understandable. But I would highly recommend charging and storing any e-bike that cheap far away from your house. So many safety corners are cut to get them to be that inexpensive.

I follow a guy on YouTube (oc commuter) that uses Windhorse bikes. He got hit by a car with the first one and continued to use the bike for about nine months after the collision. This is for the dropshippers, not the legit manufacturers.

Uh… those are established brands? What’s your criteria?

Lectric, Velotric and Ride1Up are pretty established brands. They shouldn't be included in this list.
Disastrous_Ad7487@reddit
Lectric, velotric and ride1up are all decent companies with actual customer service. They don't belong on this list.

Got it! Can't believe I somehow didn't add these ones. Also, Urtopia is just funny! 🤣

Are there more manufacturers than riders?
Joke apart, I didn't realize that there were so many manufacturers, and there is a bike for each price range we are looking for.
