Looking for a 6 inch preferably with wood grips for under 800$
Not huge on revolvers but I gotta have one to complete the collection gotta have one of everything. Looking for something in .357 or .44
Or do I just keep setting money aside and cry once about buying a Colt Python to start and likely finish my revolver collection?

Yes, this is the way.

Under $800 new is a rough spot for a 6” revolver. You can always hunt for used buf under $800 you’re looking at either Taurus (which are more beaters than collection pieces, and some trash them pretty hard), single actions (okay if you want a western-movie style revolver), or snub noses.
So if you want something like a Python just save for the Python.

Look at used Smith and Wesson revolvers. A good condition Model 28 should be in your price range. The Model 28 is a 357 Magnum built on a 44 Magnum frame. They're really nice shooting guns, and 357 is a little cheaper to shoot than 44 Magnum.

The Python is awesome... The Blackhawk is classic..
The real question is... Single or double action?.. are we trying to complete a collection of different types? .... If so... You NEED a single action army in my opinion even if its just a little ol' .22 LR...

Blackhawk in 357 is such an underrated gun

I have all three of major brands. Colt Python Colt Anaconda Colt Kodiak SW 686+ SW 586 GP100
If I were to only keep one it would be the python with the 686+ very close behind. The Ruger is my least favorite. The anaconda is a 1992 so not familiar with the new models.

It's worth saving for the Colt.

If its gonna be 'one and done' just get a colt python or anaconda and call it good.

What’s the difference between

They used to be very different, but with the new production guns it’s really just .357 or .44 mag.

Anaconda bigger bullet

I personally hate the weird pull back button for the cylinder so don’t get a colt

GP100 and aftermarket grips..

Man that thing is ugly 🤣 why does it look like that haha

Just something off about the Ruger wheel guns
Joice_Craglarg@reddit
Yeah, they're honestly ass. Redditors love to circle jerk them because they're cheaper. They don't look good, and they feel unrefined in hand.
I've handled quite a few Ruger revolvers, and more than half had canted barrels or sights.
QC is all over the place lately (with all the big manufacturers), but I'd still stick with Smith or Colt.

I have the 3” with the Ruger rosewood grips! It’s a thing of beauty!

Ruger Redhawk. Might even find them close to your budget.
