I'm becoming a boomer fudd and I love it man

I just picked up this Mossberg 151M-B from my FFL last night. I haven't had time to look up my serial yet, but these were made from 1948-1954. These guns are pretty cool little semi autos that load through a hole in the buttstock. The scope on mine is not one of the original Mossberg scopes (which have a pretty cool looking mount), and I have a standard leaf sight instead of the target peep sight on some models.
I was honestly looking for a beater; something with missing parts and maybe some rust, but after some looking and bidding I snagged this one for a great price. For being 70+ years old, it's in surprisingly good shape. My plan with this is to make it into a suppressor host. I'd like to cut about a half inch off the barrel before threading so that the suppressor mounts almost flush with the handguard. I'm going to top it off with a retro looking suppressor, with the top contender being the inland manufacturing AM-22.
Anyways my tastes over the years have turned to classic Browning and Americana guns and I am all for it.

Liking classic guns is not being a boomer fudd.
Boomer Fudd is a mentality where you hate modern guns and say stupid shit like:

I had to outright give up on trying to talk about hunting in my home town because of this shit. Then again my peers weren’t exactly bright or open minded, local deer hunting laws were especially asinine when I lived there, effectively banning all centerfire hunting cartridges made in the last century and a half. The local country bumpkin morons were basically trying to indirect fire shotgun slugs across their cornfields since nobody could buy 45-70, and they couldn’t fathom that other states exist outside of the Super Bowl, much less that they’d have less idiotic hunting laws. The one time I mentioned we’ve legally hunted with AR15’s one state over, I got similar looks to what I’d expect if I said “I identify as an Apache Attack Helicopter” on a college campus.

And a transferable machine gun on the left in front of a full zenitco Russian AK-101.
I repent my previous ways tho
allamerican37@reddit
🙃 you lucky duck. The ak-101 is a beast. I am waiting for meridians next drop.

It wasn't too hard converting Saiga before the Ukraine war kicked off. That hobby has reached a hard dead end for all except the half assers or autistically dedicated.
allamerican37@reddit
I was able to source the parts for a ak105, rpk74m and ak12 before the conflict.

I have my granoas old Winchester 74 that feeds the same way also my Browning auto 22. I like the stock feeds
bowtie_k@reddit (OP)
Yeah I've got an Sa-22 as well, in .22 short which is.. fine. I recently learned that the very early SA-22s have the loading port directly behind the receiver instead of on the side of the stock. Super cool
Sarge_09@reddit
Yes it is a sad fact the good ole 22 has become what it is today. Those old long barrel guns like my 74 and some of the old stevens and such are super accurate as well as more quiet because all powder is burnt

Oh hey another mossbeeg guy.
Dont look at the model list, down that path lies madness, next thing you know youll have a dozen of them.

I have the majority of the two number series and some of the 1xx series.
I refuse to touch 3xx, 4xx, 6xx and the plinkster.

I just love odd .22s
The same time I was bidding on this, there was a pristine Stevens 87A for $150, zero bids, that I also really wanted to get.
It ended with one bid and someone walked away with that thing for $150. Could have been me
