I think it’s time that we bring jams back.

These shorts were hideous but great. I made the mistake of wearing a pair to a butterfly garden and was violently attacked by monarchs. This was not the pair I was wearing.

I got sent home from school for wearing them!

Sure, bring those back. Let's bring back Crazy Pants too while we're at it.

Good memories. My Mom used to take me to the fabric store to pick out wacky prints then we'd go home and she'd break out her Mom's sewing machine and make me jams. That sewing machine recently seized up, and she was so sad. I tried to get it serviced but nobody knew how to work on a Singer from the 60s. I took that thing apart, lubricated everything, and got it humming again. I was so proud of myself. Then... she taught me how to sew.

Traumatic for me as I was too poor for them and my mom got me some Kmart pjs with bright shorts I wore all over and pretended were jams and people always asked if they were pjs

Finally!! Been waiting for decades.

We were so poor in the 80s that Mom borrowed a pair of Jams from my friend spending the night. She carefully measured the patterns and over the next week made me the Jams that I would wear to school that year. None of the other kids ever knew they were homemade and I was too young for branding to be important.
Skip ahead a few years and I was the kid that saved up for over a year to be the first in my HS with real Doc Martens.

Oh man! James were my jam!!!
Even today, I search out shorts that hide my knees at all times.
I do miss the crazy patterns though.

Every time I see one of my high school friends she asks me: do you still have those shirts with cows on them? 😂
Existing-Hawk5204@reddit
Dude! Yes please. Those were the shit!

My boys (13 and 10) have loud, garish, graphics patterned shorts that I THOUGHT were swim trunks. They’re regular shorts though, and are very much modern JAMS. Their one fave pattern is waffles and syrup splashing everywhere. 🤷🏻♂️👍

Jams or even better, OP brand corduroy shorts
CawlinAlcarz@reddit
I remember my basketball coach in high school banning us from wearing them to practice.
ProtozoaPatriot@reddit
That looks like bad AI. Definitely doesn't look like the Jams I remember
TowelFine6933@reddit
Nah, we need short shorts. And require banana slings at all pools & beaches..... Or just go without anything. 😏
Nervous-Rooster7760@reddit
Looks AI generated and not real. If you could actually get swim trunks with that on liner I’d absolutely buy some.
Lalamedic@reddit
They sell them on Amazon.

There are still a few jams world stores in Hawaii. You can also buy online still. I have some wild jams!
