How the fuck should anyone here know?
Inquisitivemind25@reddit
Have you tried answering the door and asking?
thefogdog@reddit
We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas!
CrossCityLine@reddit
Lazy freaky beatniks.
Complex_Bunny@reddit
Sorry to hear you are out of ideas, but I reckon a good idea might be to open the door and ask.
thefogdog@reddit
I'm not the OP I was just taking the piss. But yeah I agree
Beginning-Poet-2991@reddit
People are being so annoying in the comments. That's so weird that they are trying to open your door. Super creepy. I wouldn't open either as a woman.
BioelectricBeing@reddit
It's a guy knocking on a door normally like thousands of people do every single day (and live to tell the tale, might I add).
We have only OP's word that anyone even tried to open their door and given they're the creep who posted a video of someone without their consent to reddit and asked reddit to read his mind, I'm inclined not to really believe their story tbh
Beginning-Poet-2991@reddit
I imagine OP has videos of people trying to open her door. Not sure why would she make that up.
BioelectricBeing@reddit
People make shit like that up all the time.
Warburton379@reddit
Why not post them then instead of the perfectly normal tradie ringing the bell and walking away (probably doing work nearby/needing access/asking for a car to be moved etc). There's nothing odd at all about this video.
Equivalent_Age8406@reddit
yeah the person in the video is probably just a workman but if its someone in normal clothes trying your door and not knocking that's obviously very concerning.
No_Pollution_950@reddit
They're probably waiting for you to open the door so they can run inside your home like a little monkey and start eating flour out of the bag with their bare hands.
llnec@reddit
happened to me nan back in '93. she hasnt med teacakes since....
thelastpaperclip@reddit
Why do people post videos of random people on the internet would be another question, worryingly it seems to be becoming as common as knocking on someones door
NuisancePenguin44@reddit
We get that a lot. Random people trying the door to get in. Sometimes they go down the ginnel and try to get in the back gate, realise it's locked then look confused and walk away. It's because there's a guy a few doors up who's a dealer.
Maybe the person who used to live there was and these people have no idea they moved.
Otherwise_Living_158@reddit
I was thinking dealer or sex worker
Cult-Film-Fan-999@reddit
Is this a Ring doorbell? Speak to them throught the speak function if you don't want to open the door! If you're not interested (such as an energy salesman) tell them no. You don't need to be overly polite or explain, just be firm.
"No thank you, bye!" and close the door.
IOnlyUpvoteBadPuns@reddit
If only there was some way of finding out directly from them....
Famous-Ocelot-4937@reddit
Is this satire? Why are you asking reddit instead of the people coming to your door?!
BulkyAccident@reddit
Reddit is full of anxiety-riddled people who can't deal with people face-to-face for whatever reason. It's a fairly easy place to get reassurance for something you want to know about without needing to deal with it IRL.
OurSeepyD@reddit
Some people are very anxious, it's something that they need to conquer but it's also worth other non-anxious people being aware of this.
welsh_cthulhu@reddit
That's just a tradesman who's probably doing work on a nearby property and has a question to ask about access or supply. This happens all the time.
Don't take this the wrong way - but I think you may have some mental issues to work through. I have a friend who went through a really bad breakup and ended up living as a recluse. She used to send stuff like this to a group chat, then it got worse and worse. Please get some help.
JensonInterceptor@reddit
You've got a ring doorbell that lets you ask who's at the door without ever opening it!
MrKiplingIsMid@reddit
Bit weird posting strangers faces on the internet tbh
DeepHorizon35@reddit
Usually if someone knocks on the door I’ll answer it and find out what they want
vectorology@reddit
When I lived in London, this happened regularly if not super often. Mostly roofers trying to convince me something was wrong with mine, charity door knockers, a guy selling fish from the back of a van, etc. I’m not aware of anyone casing my place, but it’s possible. Sometimes it was a neighbour with a legitimate reason.
toonmad@reddit
Anyone remember Harry Hill's TV Highlight of the week?
SJTaylors@reddit
He looks like a trade, could be he's working on a near by property and was hoping for access etc via yours? Would depend on the housing set up etc.
Serious_Badger_4145@reddit
It's a workman. He's working on a neighbouring property and is asking you for access or if you know who's cars who's so one can be moved or something like that
This is perfectly normal. If you're nervous get a chain so you can open the door and speak to people with 0 risk but you MUST get used to opening the door, you can't live like this
SwiftieNewRomantics@reddit
Are they checking the place to see if anyone is in and the door is open so they can try robbing? Seems fairly obvious to me.
Jimquill@reddit
Looks like a workman who has a question about something work related in the area.
There's a chance you may be being paranoid.
