What’s your go to order at your favorite coffee shop in Dallas?

I feel like every coffee shop now has signature drinks. My favorite lately has been the Banana Cloud Latte at La La Land Kind Cafe. I’m looking to try something new. Please send recommendations.

I guess I need to try La La Land again because I found them overpriced and mid.
However I must praise their staff. Efficient, fast, and polite even when overwhelmed with a huge crowd.
Tempid589@reddit
I feel like La La Land coffee is good but not exciting. The matcha is where they shine, especially the Einspanner matcha latte.
Tiiimmmaayy@reddit
All coffee shops are over priced and mid. I don’t have a refined palette to enjoy black coffee and can’t taste the difference between different freshly roasted coffees. I enjoy cold brews with cold foams/sugar, and flavored lattes. Nothing I can’t make at home. Got tired of $6-$8 iced lattes at cafes so I invested in my own espresso machine. Best decision I ever made.
AbueloOdin@reddit
Coffee. Black. Try the different roasts they have. You can augment the flavor afterwards.
gvilchis23@reddit
This is the only way... Everything is coffee dessert
AbueloOdin@reddit
Not the only way. People can enjoy coffee however they want.
I do recommend people try just coffee. Sometimes it is overwhelming bitter. Don't try black 2 year old Folgers plastic tub. It sucks. But your local coffee roasters have interesting and unique flavors.
It's like trying different whiskeys. If you're going to mix it with 75% come and lime, Evans Williams all day long. But if you're going to a micro-distillery, at least try the whiskey as it is. See how it tastes! Maybe add a bit of water or have some chocolate to augment the flavor.
gvilchis23@reddit
Whisky and soda is a different flavor, is not enjoying whiskey, same with coffee, there is only one way to enjoy the coffee flavor, everything else is flavor adjacent.
AbueloOdin@reddit
Ok, dude. I think that's a shitty opinion, but you do you.
Leader_Bud@reddit
If I don’t mind sugar at the time, it’s a Gold Rush at Wayward.
Otherwise, I see what Houndstooth or Wayward has on espresso or drip and get something new.
Magija214@reddit
Iced Gold Rush is 100% the answer, especially for what OP listed in the description.

If you’re open to non-milk drinks, there are some great filter coffee options around town. Native (which might be closing soon) is renowned for their specialty pourover varietals, as is Wayward coffee in Bishop Arts.
It’s sort of a wonder how complex the specialty coffee world can be and the different flavor profiles you can get without anything added (think tea-like, floral, fruity, roasty, etc.). Might be worth a trip to either of those!
As for my typical order, I generally get a natural processed Ethiopian or Colombian pourover at Wayward since it’s close to home.
notinaweirdwayy@reddit
Native is a big sore spot for me. I refuse to go due to its affiliation with the far-right extremist Storehouse church. I’m bummed though because of the Diego Bermudez ties and it seems they’re doing good stuff there.

Good call out; I hear you on that. I try not to assume that everybody on Reddit has liberal views or cares about a company’s political/religious affiliations.

Signature Carmel iced latte at Maman is unreal (mockingbird & Abrams)

Ooh, I recently really enjoyed a pot of the Mofawar at Qahwah House. We also had the Adeni Chai, and it was great - not too sweet.
HanSolo_Cup@reddit
Bombon cappuccino at El Porton in Casa Linda
SubstantialPoet8468@reddit
Horchata cold brew is also fire. If you can stand the grittiness of the horchata
HanSolo_Cup@reddit
I'll give it a shot next time. I love horchata
SubstantialPoet8468@reddit
I think its a salvadoran horchata and not a Mexican one. Which includes ground nuts
Heyheyjackee@reddit
Yes! El Porton is the best!
HanSolo_Cup@reddit
It's so good! It's quiet and unassuming, but it absolutely thrashes every other coffee place I've been to.

French toast latte (salted) at LaLa Land is my favourite!
Apprehensive-Taco406@reddit
I only order drip coffee or Americano's in coffee shops. Black. Frankly most coffee shops around here suck hard at both. I make Lavazza at home which seems to be vastly superior. Sorry.
I think a lot of coffee places around Dallas, especially East Dallas really suck at making basic coffee. I can taste when the equipment has not been cleaned, coffee boiled or if it's old. I can name names of places that suck ass like Black Sheep Coffee. Tried their basic coffee 4-5 times and it's pretty terrible stuff.
notinaweirdwayy@reddit
The Perfect Latte at LaLa Land is my favorite. I’m watching this thread though because I’ve been wanting to try more lattes and more local coffee places.
Balancedmindset@reddit
Same…since I WFH, think I’ll start a new Saturday morning routine of visiting different spots and trying what’s being recommended at each. Always looking for new places with their own beans as well. Love having a variety at home.

Iced Magic Man from LDU with splash of milk and 2 stevia.
aManHas_NoName@reddit
Black coffee or espresso, if it’s hot as fuck out cold brew (splash of oat milk if it’s out of my fasting window)
opinionsOnPears@reddit
I usually do the oat milk too when I go out for coffee or get free coffee out somewhere, most places don't make it quite well enough to have it without.
Chris4Hawks@reddit
Tokyo Smoke at Common Good. Also anywhere that serves cold brew with lemonade/limeade
Wonderful-Ant-9448@reddit
Going there for the first time today. Will have to try this

Hola cafe
Corgisarethebest123@reddit (OP)
What do you get there?
Big-Significance-214@reddit
Iced Dulce latte!!
Upstairs_Bit8511@reddit
Used to be all about basic cappuccinos but recently got into cold brew with oat milk at this place near my work. The barista there does something with cinnamon that makes it amazing but I never remember to ask what exactly they do
Haven't tried that banana one you mentioned but sounds interesting, might check it out in weekend
notinaweirdwayy@reddit
Thanks for telling us the name of the place.

The brown sugar cold brew latte from Black Sheep Coffee is the best!! Though at LaLa I adore the lavender bloom latte
