Gas and Heating companies don't want you to know about this one simple trick!

How are the temperatures for the 2 center blower gpus? Seems really tight lol especially with the radiator at the front.
kivaougu@reddit
How does the airflow work out here? Is the radiator not passing hot air to the gpus?
lantern_lol@reddit (OP)
It's the Alta F2 case, so there are 3 massive 180mm fans pulling air in from the bottom. It's a negligible difference in air temp once through the CPU rad, so actually ends up working out better than putting it on the top (and I'm not really running high CPU workloads).
MachinaVerum@reddit
no, the air bubble wont make much of a difference on this particular silverstone cooler. the air bubble is most problematic when the pump is on the top. the pump in this cooler happens to be in the rad so you are good. you will still get an air bubble on the cpu which will create a minor hotspot, but effect will be minimal - i think. probably you'll just see one of your ccds running hotter than the rest over time.
however, in your case i would have still personally gone for an air cooler to keep the bottom intake completely unimpeded by a radiator. no real need for an aio when using blower cards, since they throw heat outside the case, away from cpu. look into the arctic freezer 4u-m if you like, excellent quiet and cheap air cooler for str5.

Every gpu has own turbocooler
tilda0x1@reddit
I am worried about those GPUs...
Annual_Award1260@reddit
Why they are stackable?
seamonn@reddit
The Max-Q version is designed to be run this way.
FatheredPuma81@reddit
I'd still check the temps to be safe. Nvidia also believes 100C VRAM temps is perfectly fine because it's within the 105C chip specs...
lantern_lol@reddit (OP)
They max out around 85C when they're all under max load. Haven't had any issues/throttling so far
unspecified_person11@reddit
I mined crypto on cards that ran that temp 24/7 for 4+ years and never had an issue, should be fine.
a_beautiful_rhind@reddit
It's true tho.. under 90c is not ideal but shouldn't break anything.
tilda0x1@reddit
Too close to one another. I hope you have great airflow towards them.
putrasherni@reddit
Is this the TRX 50 gigabyte ai top motherboard ?
lantern_lol@reddit (OP)
Yep!
putrasherni@reddit
Just a heads up, to get full pcie 5 x16 on all 4 slots, you need a threadripper pro cpu
No_Afternoon_4260@reddit
iirc the 9000 non pro provides 5.0 x16 on all 4
XO33OX@reddit
you shouldnt have water block and pump as highest point in loop, air will accumulate there and even with pump in radtiator i dont think it will be able to push that air somewhere, it might be stuck in water block.
lantern_lol@reddit (OP)
TIL, thanks! Will see if I can swap it up.
Herr_Drosselmeyer@reddit
Don't worry about it, it looks like the pump is in the radiator, not the CPU block. Check specs to be sure, but it should be fine as is.
DegenerateGandhi@reddit
Why is he getting downvoted? he's right lol
autisticit@reddit
Looks like an oven. If you use blue LEDs instead of red ones, temps will drop.
tat_tvam_asshole@reddit
ironically blue LEDs are generally less efficient and run hotter (obv I take the joke, just thought it's an interesting tidbit)
r0cketio@reddit
$40k in GPUs. Why not just fish your pockets for 128GB+ RAM? I guess if you don't neeed it..
Jorlen@reddit
384 gb vram? Is that really the case, here? (No pun intended).. Holy fucking shit, dude. Not going to lie, I would love to play around with this thing! I love that it literally looks like an electric fireplace!

MoBo Model?

I had four RTX A6000 stacked this way. It seemed OK initially but the middle ones did overheat in the end. They're designed for this but... not really.

Whats with the one mismatched power connector?
