It’s great, it has just changed considerably over the last couple decades. Now that the middle class malls in the area are all gone (valley view and to a lesser extent Prestonwood) the galleria has changed to accommodate a shift in clientele. When I was a kid it was fairly high end stores, and it gradually shifted as I’ve gotten older.
The stores aren't great. They slowly close things like Belk, and a lot of the stores inside just don't really have much to offer. Still has Grand Lux though! I used to go there when there was bad weather coming. Park the car in the garage and go have some food/wander around the mall.
Anecdotally, we were there a couple weekends ago and it was absolutely packed. Im not sure if that was an outlier or what, but I was surprised by how busy it was.
Its not anecdotal, I drive by it every day going home from work, that place stays packed. The weekend is even worse. I have absolutely no proof to back this up, but I'd say the mall overall still has good foot traffic, people just are not spending the same amount of money. I don't see the Galleria as a luxury shopping experience, which is what Tiffany's catered to, that's more of Northpark or that Preston shopping center. My anecdotal experience is I purchased my daughter a few Louis Vuitton items over the years, for special occasions like college graduation, I learned to order it online and pick it up from the closest store. Gone are the days are wondering around the mall, unless you're a young adult, that means less people and less impulse buys. Even for high end companies like Tiffany's.
Yeah, it is always packed on the weekends. That said, I am not sure that it is a Tiffany and Co crowd? I think of high end luxury more to be North Park. Galleria is a little more in the middle.
I mean the crowd at galleria is not for Tiffany. They’ve been there for so long yet I rarely ever saw customers in there. Tiffany at north park and legacy west still does very well.
I stopped into the Nordstrom at the Galleria about a month ago and they were closing. I asked a sales associate why and they said they don’t get very much business, at least compared to the NP one (of course). Even though the mall may be packed with walkers and window shoppers, people may just not be buying as much.

Nah, Galleria is still fine and busy. But I don’t think it’s necessarily the right place for a Tiffany or even the Louis Vuitton type of stores.

Oh it's definitely a tiffany and co crowd. They just might be a tiffany and co crowd after the store has closed.

Yeah the people I see are largely young people from lower class backgrounds.

I think the mall is packed with people who can afford Forever 21, Uniqlo, and H&M, not Nordstrom.
