Is this a good deal for someone with under 3 months experience

I got an interview next week for a smaller food service company and she gave me some of the rundown today it’s a lot better than what I’m doing now but does this sound good for someone without much experience ?
200$ a day guaranteed right off the rip
16cpm on top of the 200 a day
Paid for every box you take off the truck
Paid extra for being early
11 hour days
M-F
She was estimating an average was 2600 gross every 2 weeks

I do that a week without labor bumping docks it's good to stay healthy but that's gonna fuck you up
TruckerSob@reddit
i guess it sounds good, but you will be working your ass off so hope you like feeling like slave though.

1300 / 55 = 23.60 per hour
It's an ok income to start.

Grab that gig and run with it. You can build experience and use it to get into a better paying foodservice gig. Also, youre gonna learn how to maneuver the fuck out of your vehicle. Trust me.

I know it’s a lot more challenging than the Walmarts 🤣I’ve seen some food service trucks delivering and I question how the f did they even get in there
lake_june@reddit
I don’t understand how all of that averages out to just $1300 a week gross lol

Yea im not really sure either lmao. The 200 a day adds up to 1000 there’s no way all that other stuff only adds up to 300 bucks.

Good Luck! Let’s hope she’s really good at her job

Think you really should hear from a fellow food truck Driver
I’m not quite sure what to make of much of nothing. 13 cents per mile? Think I started at 28 cents hauling reefer some 30 yrs ago
$200 Sounds like the real rub. Hope is not to confuse Prices can vary a ton. All my freight is no-touch (unless damaged/claims) So anyway, I just want to give real world potential for unloading costs. (Monies charged by some company to have their unloaded (lumpers we call them) unload the freight we just delivered. (It’s kind of a racket tbh). Not terribly uncommon to see numbers approaching or exceed $400 for maybe up too two hrs (usually closer to a half hr. Two hrs is free. No detention costs incurred). Nope I can’t tell you what the lumper makes. I’m sure it varies And tbh it’s probably not half as great as it may sound. On avg I’d guesstimate some where between $14-$20. That might be with or without actual trucks in door. But yeah, I think that’s one of the real kickers (hours). Now some Drivers do touch…. Not so sure what’s possible for the Driver unloads these days (obviously). I can say that yeah 30 yrs ago. Think my best unload paid me $80. Whole trailer Needed the boxes stacked for counting on that company’s special size pallet (Yeah, pretty smart stuff). Doesn’t take all that long. You just stay at it. (Sometimes temp will motivate ya some!)
Last point is that “being early” pay. You really should learn how overtime is paid. Hopefully you get to know some of the drivers. “Hey you get OT if you want it”. Yeah? How much I’ll get???
P.S. Think I’d ask or find out IF being paid weekly is an option. Don’t get spoiled tho. Tons of ways to “try” to play games with money/checks. Could be “Yeah, But”. I’d just say that’s fine by me…. For reference Think some unrelated driving companies paying at completion of each load Two weeks? Let me see what your benefits look like…
WMDZipperbag@reddit
P.S.p.s. I’d try to talk with a McLane driver when you have some real world experience. Hopefully it’s just to talk shop. What you get now. Might not be what you’ll get then. Could still somewhat be eye opening. Rather remotely interested of not isn’t the point. You’d just be gaining knowledge ie. Yeah Boss, I’m ready for that review…. OR You catch some post. Might be able to SO I got you bruh!
WhoAreYou_I_AmYou@reddit
You can get paid this same amount working 50 hours in an amazon warehouse. Get the driving experience but keep looking for something else.
AnxiousReference8966@reddit
Smaller companies are usually better when it comes to food distribution. I’ve done it all in distribution so don’t let the mclane drivers tell you different, they’ll be singing a different tune in 10 years when they’re on their second knee surgery.

1300 a week for a lot of labor...
Chillimaniac@reddit
And that’s the average. Which means “this is the number we think looks best”. OP youll be making less than whatever their estimate is. Also sounds like youll be rushed and worked hard.
bigdawg12342@reddit (OP)
My options are kinda poo rn. I’m with one company delivering to Walmarts and I’m only making like 700 a week. Ez work I just back in and wait for them to unload but 700 a week is killing me especially since I gotta sleep in the truck 5 days a week
Chillimaniac@reddit
It probably won’t be that much more with this one. And youll be worked a lot more. In the long run it could be a lot better if you stuck with one company. It’s not the end of the world if you decide to try the new one but try and decide what your plan is when you hit a year. And what the plan is if this new one also turns out to be poo. Recruiters will ALWAYS give you the good numbers. Always assume less than what they tell you so there’s room to be pleasantly surprised.
business_estate8647@reddit
i mean this is hella lotta work but if ur young and can tough it out m-f gig aint bad. but do ur year otr and lotta doors will open then u can make 1300+/week just bumpin docks w. minimal work.
CryptographerOk3679@reddit
Just get into household goods You’ll also be doing labor but paid much more
