Looking for people's opinions /perspective on this. We are looking to take our children to Orlando they will be 3 and 7 or 4 and 8 depending when we go. Perosnaly I have been to florida many times as a child even into my teens, me and my wife have been three times with my family. I have amazing memories of it as a kid. We both enjoyed it as a young couple however the last two times I went ( 2016 and 2019) I rember it loosing its magic and being abit outdated run down (not specifically talking about the parks, more I drive and surrounding area). Now we are torn, we want to take the kids, but we have just worked it out and we are getting our total to around £18000+ for it. Whilst we can afford to go, it seems like such an vast amount for a holiday for a family of 4. Now dont get me wrong. I can do it cheaper. But I dont get much time off so generaly like the stay in nice places etc etc. This is also using our airlines to cut the cost of the flights (altho compered to the past you dont get anything for them now). Now that would pay for 3 or 4 nice holidays. Which would mean the kids get to travel more. My main question is, will we get there and regret it? I have no doubt about the parks, Disney springs, universal walk ETC. But i also dont want to be in them every day. Has it lost its magic of 20-25 years ago? Am I just old and miserable? (Yes I know it can be done for less money, but you can also go to Skegness insted of Spain, its not so much about saving money here and there its about the regrets of spending all that and getting to somwhere that has let it self go?)
