Man these politicians don't learn. Zelensky just got done screwing you on the pipeline that he said he'd open and then immediately shut off again after the vote for his EU funds cleared. Now you're doing the exact same kind of deal and expecting him to honor his word after your vote clears? Fool.

23/06/2026 First batches of crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline received in Hungary and Slovakia

Only took two extra months, we'll see how long it stays open before they blow it up again.

You're conflating two issues/events here. Russian damage to the Ukrainian part of the pipeline prevented any oil from entering Hungary, and Ukraine wasn't willing to fix it for a hostile Hungary/Slovakia.
Ukraine hitting other parts of the Druzhba pipeline in Russia has no effect on Hungarian/Slovakian oil deliveries, at least MOL hasn't found it worthwhile to mention.

There was no Russian damage, it was Ukraine who claimed Russia damaged it to avoid responsibility, as they do any time they do something reputationally damaging. It's quite possible they just literally turned it off and claimed it was damaged rather than actually doing physical damage, since they wouldn't let Hungary under Orban inspect the "damage" after it had been offline for a while and he grew suspicious.

I'd like to point out that Russia did bomb a Druzhba pipeline facility in Brody, satellite imagery of that is numerous and I could provide some if you'd like. The Hungarian argument revolved around whether the strike also damaged the underground pipeline.
It's obvious Ukraine was in no rush to claim the pipeline to be in working order, but the Russians themselves did give them the necessary pretext for the claim.

If anyone blew anything up it was the Ukrainians, you can go back and check the timing, it was laughable how obvious they were about putting it out of commission. There was no reason for Russia to want to turn it off, and Zelensky was adamant about cutting the flow.

The Brody facility was hit on Jan 27th during a Russian airstrike involving 165 drones and included other targets in the Lviv Oblast.
You're suggesting that Ukraine waited for another Russian drone strike and used it as cover to self-sabotage their own pipelines. It's possible, but you'll need something to overcome the default assumption that drones hitting Ukrainian soil during a Russian drone attack were Russian in origin.
As for the argument that this benefits Ukraine and not Russia, 23 Russian drones exploded on Polish ground on 09/09/2025. This lead to the invocation of NATO Article 4, the closure of the Polish-Belarusian border, a new NATO exercise and the permanent installation of more fighters ans SAM launchers across the eastern NATO border (as well as plans for a 'drone wall' by 2030 but who knows what's become of that).
In light of such a wildly counter-productive strike, I don't it's fair to assume that Russian decision-making is always logical.

I just love how convinced you are that the statements and assumptions you have made in your comments are pure facts. "I know it wasn't russia, it was Ukraine, trust me, its obvious!" - you
imunfair@reddit
I told you why I think that, you don't seem to have any actual reason to think otherwise aside from your own bias.

Why would he antagonize non-ruSSian adversaries?
imunfair@reddit
Selfishness and greed, it's been a recurring theme with Zelensky/Ukraine throughout this entire war - they act as if support is owed them, as if everyone else should just hand over the entirety of their arsenals and coffers and make any sacrifice that Ukraine demands - including doing economic harm to their own countries. They were upset Hungary blocked sanctions on the pipelines due to the economic damage it would cause the EU, so eventually Ukraine just started blowing them up rather than realizing they shouldn't backstab their allies.
