First time builder: Opinions/critiques needed on part list
Posted by space-trav@reddit | buildapc | View on Reddit | 6 comments
I'll using this PC primarily for gaming and other daily tasks. I'll be using a 144hz 1080p monitor. I plan to use this Microcenter bundle when it eventually restocks. My budget is around $1,500, but I'd like to save money where possible. I also want to stick with this specific Lian Li case because I want this to be a smaller build. That's why I want to go with this specific bundle. Please let me know what y'all think. Thank you!

Less CPU and more GPU with initial builds.
thefuzzylogic@reddit
Looks like a solid build, only two things I would look at changing: first would be to swap the GPU for a 9070 if you don't need Cuda compute performance, and second would be a PCIe gen 4 SSD instead of gen 3. Depending on which games you play, you may be able to save some money by going for a Ryzen 7xxx instead of 9xxx, the difference shouldn't be very noticeable unless you're playing simulation games like racing sims, RPGs, or city builders.

I considered this JonsBo case, but I worry it will complicated to work with for a first time builder.
TokageLife@reddit
If you're going to spend $579 on a GPU you may as well top up an extra $20 for a 9070 instead since you get +49% raster at 1440p and +45% RT performance at 1440p.
I'd also spend an extra $15 to jump from P300 (which is fine, just older) to a P400 V4 or something.
You should be able to find some A-tier 850W units for $80-$90 as well to give yourself some extra headroom down the road.
