How many of y’all watched Woodstock ‘94 when it was live on pay per view? Pr did you have a friend record it on vhs for you?
I was just scrolling through youtube shorts and there was a video where a guy was interviewing people at a music festival. One gal he was interviewing was wearing nothing up top but a red bodice and pasties and she was covered in fake blood. I immediately knew it was porno for pyros even though I have never thought of that band since seeing them play woodstock ‘94.
I looked up to see if their set was on Youtube and it surely was. I scrolled through the 57 minute set to confirm what my memory was telling me and yup, there was a clown “cutting” himself on stage and then making out with Perry Ferrel and coating him in blood, then a song or two later the gal in the red bodice and pasties came out.
I was 13 at the time and I think that set scared me enough I turned to christian rock for a few years. Weird to see such a obscure reference like that in the wild with no context and to take me back down that memory lane again.

Watched it on MTV i think. I mostly wanted to see Green Day. I was not disappointed!!!

That concert is one of my favorite memories of 1994. I recorded MTV's coverage of the concert when it aired over Thanksgiving week that year. I was still discovering many bands, and seeing so many great ones perform there was fantastic for young me.

I watched it all scrambled, like when trying to watch porn in those days when you don't have premium cable. I could still hear the music clearly which mattered more than seeing the performances

Things the younger generations will never understand, the switch from watching encoded naughty channels to thumbnail archives on the Internet

I was 12 and primarily into the Beatles and Bob Dylan (my dad's music), I remember '99 being an absolute shit show

No but it's funny how Woodstock '94 gets completely forgotten about with the '99 concert overshadowing it. I remember the '94 concert was a huge deal at the time. I remember seeing lots of people wearing those Woodstock shirts for years after that.

Didn’t watch it because I was there with my parents

I actually have rips from someone who recorded the whole PPV broadcast and transferred it to DVD.

94 looked like a blast. I'm sure there was some questionable behavior behind the scenes, much like 99, but this seemed like the lesser of 2 evils for the 90s Woodstock shows. Plus, I liked the sets a bit more with this one.

Didn't record it, but I clearly remember B-Real saying "They say we're generation X, but I say we're generation fuck you!"
