Mazda B2200 Fuel Pump

So i’m prepping for a weber carb conversion (waiting on adapter plates) and in the meantime was gonna replace the fuel lines and pump. Watching a few others on YT i’ve noticed that everyone else seems to have what looks like a fuel pump IN the engine bay vs mine does not have that part. Has anyone else noticed this in their truck? Do i need to add one here? I’m just confused. Also im new to this so pls be nice lol

I’m pretty sure that’s your fuel pressure regulator. If this in engine was fuel injected it probably runs close to 40psi of fuel pressure. That’s likely going to absolutely flood a carburetor.

Yeah I think in 92 they were fuel injected
Honestly probably best to keep it fuel injected instead of a Weber you’ll get more efficiency and power in general

well i assumed it was a pump bc of this old post i found where OP links the pump in the comments https://www.reddit.com/r/Cartalk/s/yJ0XsOCiI3
it’s not a fuel injected engine tho?

What year is this? I’ll need to check my manual but iirc not all transmission combos had the mechanical pump.
Where do the fuel lines go?
It might have an in-tank pump

1992! it’s an automatic. not totally sure where the fuel lines go at this stage, gotta study up on that. i think it does have an in tank pump but i was seeing this one on other people’s trucks and thought maybe they moved it to the bay?
