What’s even crazier is how slapdash and ramshackle the whole construction job was. The front Landing gear was salvaged from Crashed B-24 Liberators, the Fuselage from different airframes of He 177 A-5s, The tail fins from a Ju 188, and the man undercarriage from a Ju 352. Add the Swept forward wings and the Junkers Jumo 004 engines, and there’s the Ju 287 V-1.

The Ju 287 V1 was a forward swept wing testbed, and it and the Ju 287 V2 were officially called "flying mockups" by Junkers. The Ju 287 V3 and production Ju 287 would have had a Ju 388 style nose section and retractable landing gear.
