Need Help Building My First PC

Right now I use a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gaming laptop. I've had a host of problems with that since I got it, and it's not cheap or easy to maintain.
I'm completely useless when it comes to hardware and PC building. I read "The Beginner's Guide to Building a PC" and did a few cursory Google search to figure out which parts I should be using. Then, I attempted to put a build together on PC Builder.
I'm looking to get a PC that's around the same level as my current laptop, maybe slightly better. I'm also in college so if there's any areas I could cut costs without significantly sacrificing performance I'm more than open to that.

Most of the games I play aren't super performance intensive (i.e. Risk of Rain 2, Balatro, etc.). When I do play AAA games I'd prefer to be able to play on High or Max settings. I'm planning on getting a 2560x1440 monitor.

You don't need a 9950X3D for gaming. If you want to play games at high to max at 1440P, you should spend less on the CPU and more on the GPU.

What would be some good options to switch them out for?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mDrhkD for about 300 less money, you can get a 9070XT

Honestly you’re overspending hard in a few places while underspending in the area that matters most for gaming performance. The build is technically runnable, but the part balance is way off for your use case. A 9950X3D paired with a 5060 Ti makes very little sense for a college/gaming/general use system, and that RAM price especially looks completely wrong 32GB DDR5-6000 should be nowhere near $430. I’d honestly downgrade the CPU to something like a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or 9700X, use Runable for organizing your build planning and setup notes, then redirect the savings into a stronger GPU or just save a huge amount of money overall.

What exactly want you do with this Pc? And wich resolution want u play?

I usually play on high or Max settings, I'm looking at getting a 1440p moniter

Okay. In your case I would put the most money in the gpu. Get a 9070XT or a 5070ti - what you prefer. A 7800x3D is more than enough. If the price difference is not that much and you have the budget you can get a 9800X3D. And get a B850 or a B650E chipset mainboard with PCIE 5.0 x16 support.
