what3words saved my butt in a blinding storm

Our CERT training recommended an app called what3words. I thought it was dumb. We already have latitude and longitude. That’s universal. Why would I need three random words that mean nothing to anyone without the app?
Fast forward to last night.
We were driving down a highway when the worst of the storm hit. Hail knocked out my windshield wipers, and visibility went to zero instantly. I hit my hazards and tried to get to the shoulder, but we ended up in the median. You do not know fear until you're facing oncoming lights with your kids in the car.
We were sitting in standing water, I couldn’t tell if the tires were flat, and there were no crossroads nearby. So I called the police and gave them our what3words location.
To my surprise, they had it. They dispatched a Sheriff, he checked on us, then let me follow his lights to a gas station so we could get off the road and get a ride home.
G-d keeps us humble. I am very glad we listened and downloaded that stupid app.
Googling it today I see a lot of other people take issue with the app as well. Homophones can send rescue to a very different location. It's not open source. But for me specifically in this situation, it worked out.

I’m not trying to be antagonistic, just genuinely wondering why you think so?

I saw this kind of post earlier. And from the wording of the post, it's like an ads trying to be seem like a testimony. Fake testimony if i could call it that.

There's not one single post about this app in the last year in this sub. I'm a Top 1% Commenter in this sub. You're throwing false accusations for easy karma.

Yeah, that’s what kinda threw me off. As far as I’m aware, bot posts typically come from a very new account and just repeat the exact same posts in loads of subs.
I found the post interesting, anyways

Thanks. I'm happy to send the mods a screenshot of my 911 call if people don't believe me.

Did you read the last paragraph? I don't think AI bot spam would list possible issues with the app it was pushing. Sometimes people are able to write effectively and concisely because they went to school.

For real. I'm not AI. I'm not a bot. I still think the app is dumb but I have to get credit where credit is due.
OneLastPrep@reddit (OP)
Very much no? Did you look at my post history at all?

User doesn't check any bot boxes

Yeah, homophones can send rescue to a very different location.
What does that even mean?
