Planning to visit Budapest - how many days are worth it

Hey guys,
I'm a late planner this vacation but I found some okay prices for flight and hotel but didn't pull the trigger yet.
The trip would be from Sunday to Thursday, focus with exploring the city and nice architects.
I read a lot about it's a great place to party or for a weekend trip and now I'm wondering if 5 days are not too much. Also I read it's not as cheap as it used to be anymore.
I will travel solo, during Sunday to Thursday, I hope I can still enjoy there.
Recommendations and advices are heartly welcome

You're kind of silly. You can stay 4 Months in a city and you will not yet see everything.

[insert sarcastic comment about how "cheap" Budapest used to be for locals]
anyway, 5 days are not too much, considering you lose \~1 day with travel logistics & whatnot. If you walk around and don't just watch the most popular sights downtown you'll fill out the remaining time.

I think you will easily find enough things to do for 5 days. Thrre are lots of sights to see, places to go, foods to try.

Keep in mind that UEFA is this week, soon F1, and in August Sziget which drive the prices of accommodations up.

I dont know about length, but you can definitely go cheapre by booking not a hotel but a room or any other accomodation. Prices are much lower in the outer districts and if its near a metro station, you are in the city centre in 15 minutes. There are also night buses everywhere after partying. You can find a room on airbnb FOR 16 000 HUF/ night and even 3 star hotels are from 30 000 huf. So you can save 157 eur/ 187 usd by not booking a hotel
