This is what happens when we don't go and vote. My city released some statistics about how many people had voted during the early vote period, and some polling stations had only 2 democratic registered voters, period

They prefer to bitch and complain here.
ponycorn_pet@reddit
Everyone could ACTUALLY effect positive change if they showed up at the ballots, it's so infuriating
middlebird@reddit
I notice far too many just stay home because they realize their ideal candidate isn’t running and they won’t get everything they want. This disturbing trend among young people will further contribute to our country’s decline.

Nothing will ever be perfect or exactly what you (generalized you, not specifically you) want. That doesn't mean that we can't gain traction, or more commonly, prevent worse from taking root. Ugh

I went to vote at my democratic polling station yesterday and asked how many people had come thru.. lady was hesitant to say anything but eventually told me less than 20. I voted at 4 P.M.

If everyone who went to the latest no kings protest were to actually turn out to vote, there would have been a tsunami landslide win for us

Voters are so fkn stupid especially after the shit he’s pulled 🤦♂️ what a disappointing true misogynistic and homophobic form
zuqkfplmehcuvrjfgu@reddit
Are you referring to him changing his position on ICE? I'm not familiar with any misogyny or homophobia controversies with him.
UnipegDownDaHareHole@reddit
Texas voters being misogynistic and homophobic. They’d rather a back stabber than a true leader because she’s a woman who supports gays.

Texas Voters that is

We lost Jasmine Crockett to redistricting, and because she wanted to be a senator and got trounced by Talarico. She was doing an excellent job in the House, and would most likely gotten elected in the Abbotmandered new district
Arrmadillo@reddit
Crockett would have easily won a reelection campaign in her district. Crockett represents Texas Congressional District 30. Both before and after the 2025 redistricting, it was a safe, solidly democratic district.
Snopes - Did Texas 'fire' Jasmine Crockett by redrawing congressional map?
“According to Dave's Redistricting, a nonprofit, volunteer-driven database for Congressional maps, the 30th district previously had a partisan lean that was +55 for Democrats, while the new 30th district has a partisan lean of +53 for Democrats.”
NDRC - Proposed Texas Gerrymander Reduces Latino and Black Opportunity Districts
“In Dallas, Black and Latino voters were packed aggressively into TX-30 and TX-33, while cracking remaining voters of color across surrounding majority white districts —TX-5, TX-6, TX-12, TX-24, TX-25, and TX-32.”
Texas Tribune - Texas redistricting map: How the GOP could increase its stronghold
“District 30 - Jasmine Crockett D\ +47 Harris\ Trump: 25.7%\ Harris: 72.7%”
CBS News - Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett considering running for different congressional district amid redistricting battle
“Crockett said she believes she still has a strong rapport with her current constituents, most of whom will remain in the 30th District.”

Yep. There’s a reason her pastor is running for her old seat, it’s cause its an easier election to win than Saddam’s elections lol

Terrible! Julie was a good leader and representative, including standing up to and fighting against Republicans.
Collin bends over backwards to appease Republicans, including on ICE, speaking out against Bibi & Israel’s right wing, etc.
Instead, we get a milquetoast centrist.

Couldn't beat Ted Cruz so he had to go after something he could achieve.
