Traveling to DFW after World Cup Game that ends at 5, flight at 730. Is this crazy?

Dealing with some flight issues. Planning on going to the Netherlands vs Japan game on Sunday June 14th. Game is at 3pm and should be ending around 4:55-5 pm. I am trying to book a 9:15pm departure from DFW which would give me ample time but I am having issues getting that booked. Looking at a 7:30pm and wondering if that's doable. I would assume they are going to try to have ride share and taxi (it seems taxi is way closer to the stadium) running as smooth as they can for the world cup but just wondering if I am going to be cutting it way too close?
We wont have bags and will just be walking straight to security with TSA pre. Basically gives me 90 mins to get out of the stadium and to the airport. I will likely buy tickets on the side of the stadium closest to the taxi pick area to shave off some time and don't mind leaving with 5 or so minutes left in the game to beat the crowd out the door and to the taxis.

Yes it is crazy. No public transportation from stadium, so you and everyone else will be driving/Uber in that small area on overloaded roads. Then trying to get into the airport (which can be crazy on a good day, much less when thousands are coming & going for world cup), then trying to get through security & to your gate in time.

Too risky, if you leave well before the game to get out of the stadium to beat traffic - may be, but i wouldn’t do it

Answering your edit, but if the game ends at 5 and your flight is 9:15, that should be absolutely enough time unless traffic really gets to a standstill for 3 straight hours

With this being the world cup it's hard to know for sure

This might be the most unanimous answer I’ve ever received. Thanks. Definitely not risking it

If, a big IF, their busses to and from Centerport Station are working and not stuck in traffic I think 9:15 is perfectly doable. Hell, I actually think you could do 7:30 if the busses are plentiful. Bus to Centerport, then bus to DFW from Centerport. 7:30 is dicey if they don't have enough busses, 9:15 should be fine.

Just leaving the parking lot is gonna test your patience in new ways.
Last time I went it took us over 1 and a half hours to leave the parking lot

Those of us that live here know without a doubt that we are not ready transportation-wise (or just infrastructure-wise) to do anything "quickly" when that's going on.
roccosito@reddit
lol Godspeed if you can get out of traffic to make the flight. Trying to find my Uber after a fight hosted at AT&T - and I walked to the Walmart - was hell. While talking to the driver, I overheard a woman trying to steal my ride as well.

Even making the 915 flight will be iffy IMHO. Arlington when a game lets out is INSANE, and without gamefay traffic the drive is 20-30 minutes to DFW airport from the stadium. Additionally DFW airport is undergoing construction so there are chances for delays. I would assume if you leave right when the game is over you'll add at least an hour to your travel time.

Thanks. Ya I think even with 915 I’ll be leaving before the final whistle. 4:45 leaving the stadium and needing tk be there by 8:15 I’d hope would be enough time. If not I may lose it in the taxi haha

Leave the game 40 minutes early
hoshiwa1976@reddit
So the stadium is in Arlington and the airport is in Irving I assume not love field, that time is cutting it super close. I'd try for a later time
GrillMonkey187@reddit
Don’t do it. You’ll be stuck in traffic.
Aperture_TestSubject@reddit
Yes. That will not turn out well for you. Move that flight
ACG3185@reddit
Zero chance you make that flight
thisonelife83@reddit
Let’s say boarding is at 6:40pm or so. I think you have enough time if the game ends around the time it should. I would plan on it taking an hour from the stadium to DFW.
51sebastian@reddit
It'll take you at least an hour to get out of the stadium area after the game.
goclobow@reddit
travel will be crazy. airport will certainly be jammed. you are being quite risky.
Mr-Top-Demand@reddit
Only do this if you are planning to leave the game early. Otherwise you will miss your flight
TheSpivack@reddit
I wouldn't chance it personally, unless you leave before the match is actually over. It's a 20 minute drive with no traffic, and traffic is going to be a nightmare if you try to leave with everyone else.

Ya I really would prefer the later flight but for whatever reason the airline isn't allowing me to book that even though there are plenty of seats. My hope is , with so many more people traveling to this game from out of town compared to a cowboys game, there would be less people driving and most of those not driving would be waiting till after full time and clapping the team (more of a soccer thing that anything), so a quick sprint to the taxi station right on the southwest edge of the stadium would be doable.
shellbear05@reddit
Call the airline directly to book your seat. Sometimes the website is squirrelly.
ElecBees@reddit
Less people driving? There's no public transportation. Everyone is driving.
The_Texas_Cuban@reddit
It’ll take an hr to get on the main highway and 40 min to get from the highway to the airport.
lesmunk@reddit
Lived in DFW all my life, this won’t be possible. Arlington is where traffic lives, and during any game you can plan on it taking at least an hour to get out of the area. During the World Cup, I would plan on 2 hours, but the airport is also going to be insanely busy with all the visitors. I would get the latest flight possible if you absolutely need to leave that night, or just get the first flight out the next morning and get a hotel near the airport.
TXWayne@reddit
Not......a.....chance.....
Torgenluch@reddit
Also, the flight departs at 7:30 but they’ve started boarding 30-40 minutes earlier and have closed for boarding ten minutes before departure these days.
pamtual@reddit
Takes over an hour just to leave the stadium and the streets will have significant traffic.
xxtraflaminhot666@reddit
It took me an hour to go two miles once. I agree. It will be a nightmare here, anticipate delays
spacedman_spiff@reddit
I would call the airline about that later flight.
In ideal conditions, you would be cutting it close. This will be nightmare traffic conditions.
latinobombshell@reddit
May the gods be with you
Beaver-on-fire@reddit
Very high chance of missing that flight.
LobotomyCandi@reddit
Too risky
air-hug-me@reddit
I wouldn’t feel comfortable with that, you would need to leave more than five minutes before the end. Can you stay another night and fly out the next morning? You likely will miss this flight.
misrdont@reddit
Not doable. Getting out of the stadium and into DFW Airport in that short of time with security and evrything will be crazy.
