Felon friendly apartments

Wondering if there are any apartments in Plano that rent to felons. Would be amazing if somebody had a lead on this. Charges are from 2020. Thanks in advance.

"Violence against people" is the determining factor. Most apartments won't rent to people who have domestic violence or assault on the record. Some do.
Try the apartments on Alma just north of legacy, on the west side of Alma. The place with the duck pond.

I had better luck renting a house from a private party. I know prices are very different these days though and finding a private party land lord is also kind of a thing of the past.
Also after 7 years you can petition to seal the records to make life easier.
I got surf shark vpn at some point and it came with incogni. That actually wound up helping too. A lot of people search sites listed every court appearance as a charge so it looked like I had a long rap sheet but it was just one charge. Most complexes didn't find anything after that.

Google removes your public data for free... They have a free service for everyone who gonna a Google account... It's in your profile check it out.. works flawlessly.

use an apartment locator service, they'll know

Good thing is almost all apts in Texas only look back 7 years on criminal history so it won’t be so hard for ya next year .. also they look at the charge, so if it was a petty felony like a thc pen, you probably can get approved much easier without it being past the 7 year mark.. best thing you can do is call around yourself

Mines from 09, and it still haunts me. Yes, they are only supposed to go back 7yrs, that's a joke. Google yourself. It's pretty much your entire adult life. They see the word "felony" or "eviction" one time, and that's all they see. If you are lucky enough to find a decent complex to accept you they want a crazy amount for a deposit I lived in a motel for years. I ended up coming into a little bit of money, found a private landlord and paid 6 months up front. That was 5 yrs ago.

Your best bet is a private landlord who doesn’t do back ground checks they can be found on Zillow and Craigslist. Look for postings that do not seem AI generated like some old man wrote it. My friend uses this method and has never failed.
The issue you run into with the 2nd chance apartments or halfway houses is living around sex offenders.

You could take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC. The current occupant has 34 felony convictions and would have more if he wasn't re-elected.

I feel like your PO could probably help with this info instead of Reddit. Or maybe google, or chat gpt, or just calling places.. Yeah, any other way than Reddit. Good luck

How can the post office help? /s
reddituser1000111@reddit
PO = parole / probation officer is what he’s referring to not the post office lol
10mm1911@reddit
The "/s" = sarcasm. Meaning it was a joke. Hence your down votes.

The Park on 14th in Plano

Maybe try an apartment locating service they can probably help you find some places that won’t write you off for that

Depending on what you did then, & what you’ve done since, would determine if I tell you about apartments that would rent to you.
I fully believe in redemption after someone has paid their “debt to society”, including “putting my money where my mouth is” & not discouraging a reformed felon to live in my neighborhood.
If it was a non-violent felony, especially like some trumped up drug charges, there’s a good chance I’d even assist in the finding of a place to live & other things.
Fearless-Donkey3829@reddit (OP)
It was a DUI. Unfortunately when it All went down they claimed I assaulted an officer. I didn't. Never been in a fight in my life much less with an armed cop but it is what it is.
Suitable_Bike_9484@reddit
Unfortunately, all that matters is what is on your report, not what went down in your reality. So, if assault is on there then more complex’s will be hesitant. Someone else recommended reaching out to your PO — that would be the best thing.
Grand-County-8955@reddit
I believe apartment complexes usually run your credit report and also make decisions/approvals based on proof of income and such.
Good luck.
