Defective round?

Am I supposed to let the seller or manufacturer know?

Am I supposed to let the seller or manufacturer know?
11systems11@reddit
I wouldn't yeet that
Old_MI_Runner@reddit
It won't seat so yeeting it will not be an option.
Happy_Garand@reddit
It will if you just file down the extra bits ^/s

Nah, it's just 1, right?m

Correct. I’m a new firearm owner. I got a 1000pk of practice rounds. Just happened to find that while reloading a magazine.
Arkele@reddit
Well you’re already doing it right by buying bulk.
whattoputhereffs@reddit
Can I ask what the difference between bulk ammo price and individual boxes is? Here in a European country where I live and shoot, there is no discount, up to I believe 3000 rounds. Thus I just buy individual boxes.
PlaceUserNameHere67@reddit
This is the way. I have 3500 rounds of 9mm. Haven't found any like that yet.
WombatAnnihilator@reddit
I told Federal about a 30-30 round like that. They sent me a $20 voucher for more ammo. I paid $7 for the box it came in.
SamHandwich419@reddit
I don’t think you can technically say it’s defective unless you try and shoot it.
sirbassist83@reddit
thats definitely defective
Kindly_Region@reddit
I had something similar happen with some Winchester white box. I emailed customer service and they offered to send me a new box if I gave them the serial number and mailed them the defective round in a prepaid envelope. I ended up keeping it. It was on my coffee table for a long time, I liked showing it to people.
This was back when ammo was still at a good price so getting a free box wasn't as enticing as it is now
JasonHeskin@reddit (OP)
It is a big Winchester box
WestSide75@reddit
Not surprised. Winchester’s QC is dogshit.
VanillaIce315@reddit
Went through tons of Winchester 5.56, 7.62, and 9mm. Never had an issue. The amount of problems get blown way out of proportion online. For every complaint on Reddit, 9,999 people don’t have any problems with it (made up statistics).
sirbassist83@reddit
ill never understand this mentality. you can buy ammo that doesnt regularly get posts like this made about it, for roughly the same price. why are you loyal to companies that refuse to implement adequate QC? sure, your odds may only be 1:1000, but you could lower that to 1 in a million with literally no downsides.
WestSide75@reddit
I’ve had multiple problems with out-of-spec 9mm White Box rounds since Covid, and so have tons of others. Nobody’s posting pics of their Blazer brass or American Eagle rounds being deformed out of the box.
Kindly_Region@reddit
That tracks 🤣
Mine was out of one of the ammo cans with white boxes in it. They wouldn't replace the entire can. Just the one box that round came out of. It would've been 100 rounds for me. I definitely would've sent it in if they sent me a whole can.
JasonHeskin@reddit (OP)
Okay. Take the picture this way. Got it.
drizza23@reddit
OP is going to expect 1 replacement round in the mail from the manufacturer😅😅

Damn can’t a bullet just show a little cleavage without all the judgement.
Nyancide@reddit
every time I've ever let a manufacturer know, they've given me 50-200 rounds. you should definitely send an email.

Find the company’s customer service email, and send them a pic of the defect itself and the head stamp (to prove it’s theirs). Include the lot number as well, which should be on the box.
