driver left the fill line drain valve open and the liquid fill valve worked itself open while going down the road. happens all the time on these trailers. usually not an issue except when the drain valve is left open or the cap isn't on tight enough
No big deal. Thats the city's largest fire extinguisher. Although 10 years ago we did have one displace all the air from a jobsite and had to shut down for awhile.
I wouldn’t mind it but then with hazmat endorsements you have all the retesting all the time. Apparently that’s just liquid nitrogen so it’s not as dangerous as some things they haul around like gasoline, diesel, radioactive waste, refrigerants, …
Then you’re safe from being expected to deliver fireworks and gasoline then. I’m fine staying away from hazmats because it’s a hassle. After taking the class and giving them your fingerprints and taking the test you worry day in and day out about your safety and making sure you follow hazmat regulations. Or you haul gasoline at 20+ over the speed limit and cut people off without signaling. Those people exist too.
Had that happen several years back. Didn't tighten the load valve all the way and went to bed. Got woke up by someone telling me I had vapor under the trailer, ours vented on top. Scared me till I remembered I has hauling nitrogen that week instead of my normal oxygen. Least the truck stop didn't call out the cops and hazmat.
UN 1977 is liquid nitrogen. I’d still be weary about standing in the vapor cloud though, if the concentration built up too much you could still suffocate.

Nitrogen is the most common gas in the atmosphere. Nothing much to worry about.

Not as bad as it looks hence hands in pockets

It's nitrogen...he's probably having a bad day, but it's by no means an emergency...just a "well, fuck."
truckeredditor@reddit
Only if you lay down under the tube it's venting from. Otherwise it's not too bad.

That would be the best day ever 🏃🏼♂️💤

Nice way to cool down on a hot day, so long as you're not laying in it

His blowdown valve probably wiggled open going down the road. It's as easy and closing the valve and you're set.
