I have three pelican cases, 2 for photography/media storage equipment and 1 for pistols and theyre all top notch stuff. The foam for my pistol case came as one solid piece, but with removable precut squares that I used an automotive pick to poke and pull out. Pelican stuff is quality, just in case anyone was on the fence about the craftsmanship.

The Apache case is carry-on sized. This is the largest size you can check with most airlines. The Apache case fits inside this one.

If you need to fly, Pelican Air is about as good as it gets. Significantly lighter for a given size than the competition, but in my experience, nearly as durable. I fly at least monthly with firearms and use them for checked bags.

The Apache 5800 XL is tiny on the inside, it can’t fit a 14.5 upper on a diagonal. I’d say yes, the pelican is worth the premium at this sale price.

I don’t see the practical use of hauling this heavy af case for general traveling, unless it’s 1860 and you have a porter carry your luggage during your grand tour of the Empire before you have to marry your cousin.

Pelicans are good for traveling. I use a 1510 as a carry on and HPRC 2700W for luggage. Pelican wheel mounting is better.

This one might be a bit big inside. Good if you run out of space or travel with a pillow. Bad if you carry heavy stuff.

This can open under a folding table, if that is useful for what you do.

Downsides: Sometimes your luggage goes to the expensive equipment part of the baggage claim. This can be annoying if you are waiting at the carousel.

Pelican Airs don't stack, if you plan to fly several cases.
