A mutual fund that only buys and sells stocks by imitating what legislators and officials buy and sell

It is really hard to pick stocks so well that you consistently beat the market. These folks seem to be really good at picking stocks, so why not imitate the pros? IYKYK.

The problem is that their reports are delayed by 45 days, so trading on that information is meaningless.
Also, in 2025 only 32% of congressmen who traded stocks had a rate of return better than the market average.

Do you have the source for that? Interested in the methodology.

That’s actually an astronomically high number of people to beat the market.

Wouldn't 50% be what you'd expect by random chance? I get that the median is generally not the mean, but this seems like situation where they would be about the same.
WendigoSmacker@reddit
Sure, if there were 2 stock choices in the entire world
No-Sail-6510@reddit
Dude that’s better than professional traders

Already a thing

Just copy what Nancy polosi is doing and you’ll be fine.

I think somebody did that and called it PelosiTracker

I actually put a minuscule amount of money in it to see how it performed. It’s for shit. I spent a large portion of 2025 with it in the red and finally sold it off when it accidentally got me back to break-even 😂
NativeMasshole@reddit
If it were that easy, everyone would already be doing it.

The fact that this exists and she still has a job is insane to me
shponglespore@reddit
She retired.

There are apps that do that, but it takes months for trades to become publicly available so you can only see what they were doing months ago so much of the information is useless for decision making

Insane work mods
Biabolical@reddit
Exactly. Info that's good for insider trading has an expiration date.
DeathOrCurePlease@reddit
They've done that several times. Its not accurate. They are allowed to wait 30 DAYS BEFORE REPORTING BUYING ORNSELLING A STOCK so your still behind
