Call me boring but a large cod n chips please
siybon@reddit
I just love myself a pea fritter and chips
mortstheonlyboyineed@reddit
Love a pea fritter. Sadly the only chippy near me that does them has a really restricted menu with everything else and their chips taste weird.
Clarac94@reddit
Elite veggie choice, well done
Scottie99@reddit
What is this, a pea fritter, please no.
Icy_Information967@reddit

NoContract1090@reddit
Well, this isn't a go to, since it was a one off occasion, but I'm a big Hull City fan, and had a bet on since December for Hull City to get promoted, came in on Saturday and won £300. Ordered a 1/2lb cheeseburger, 10" doner pizza, XL Doner Kebab, Large portion of chips, and they sent a free cheesy garlic bread too. This was all for myself, I live alone. Lasted 2 whole days and had about 35 cans of stella over those days to go with it. Incredible weekend, but I still feel slightly sick.
SnooEpiphanies8006@reddit
I'm from. Hull, I praise you and your menu
JuggernautPretend208@reddit
Large sausage (to share with the dog), chicken and mushroom pie (to share with the wife), large chips (same), pineapple fritter which I've never known if it's meant for afters but I cut it up and eat it with the chips, salt, vinegar and ketchup
Edibleflowerpot@reddit
I love that you get a large sausage to share with your dog so he doesn’t feel left out 🥰
meatflaps-69@reddit
Haddock supper, single battered haggis, 2 pickled onions.
Opening-Fortune4@reddit
Batteries haggis is the treat every time I’m in Scotland
Mikey463@reddit
I would love to try battered haggis. Love haggis. Is this a norm for chippy's in Scotland?
Iwantedalbino@reddit
Jumbo haddock supper
Steak pie chaser, although usually scoffed walking home.

DaisyLea59@reddit
Large cod, scallops, curry sauce for dipping. And maybe a savoury cake if I'm feeling extra greedy. Lashings of salt and vinegar. Bread and real butter at home!
revrobuk1957@reddit
Depends…
It’s either cod, chips, and mushy peas with a couple of spoonfuls of the wife’s gravy. That is the choice for when I don’t want leftovers for the following day.
When I want leftovers I have char siu foo yung with chips, salt and pepper ribs, and prawn crackers. The wife has a special chow mein. The portions at our chippy mean that there’s plenty for that night’s tea and the next day’s lunch.
Otherwise-Plane8282@reddit
Mine depends on what mood I’m in it’s either cod or two spam fritters with chips & curry sauce
trainpk85@reddit
A battered sausage and a chip butty with a can of irn bru. Used to be lilt but you can’t get it anymore.
PaulBradley@reddit
It's an absolute crime that Lilt got discontinued
PaulBradley@reddit
Small chips, large fish, large curry sauce please boss man.
Jonseroo@reddit
Large chips. We're vegetarian and I don't think they sell anything else we can eat. Chips are nice, though.
We used to go to the other chip shop that had lovely battered onion rings, but then to save money they started making them with sellotape instead of onions. They have closed down now.
LoudCar7846@reddit
Have you ever tried vegan (banana blossom) mock fish & chips? I'm not veggie but it was a tasty alternative.
Jonseroo@reddit
Good call. I will suggest it to my family.
spikewilliams2@reddit
Have you made sure they don't fry in beef fat, and do they fry the chips in the same oil as the fish and sausages?
Jonseroo@reddit
I can't remember if we asked the first time we went. We very rarely eat chips.
Spikyleaf69@reddit
At the chippy tandoori chicken kebab & battered chips. I make sumac red onions at home to go with it.
cornflakegirl658@reddit

A smack barm with pea wet is a beautiful thing 🤤

MadWorldEarth@reddit
Cod/haddock/plaice & chips.
Ok-Pumpkin-6203@reddit
Varies. If I was at the chippy now I would get...
Large cod and chips, and a saveloy while I am waiting for the fish to be cooked.
Peas and a can of Rio would complete the order.
When I get home and realise I can probably eat no more than two thirds of it and I reflect on the cost, I will have a little weap.
Pat00tie@reddit
What’s a saveloy?
JorgiEagle@reddit
Type of sausage
GrumpyOlBastard@reddit
What's a weap?
JorgiEagle@reddit
Chicken burger, lettuce and mayo bun, cheese, sweet chili sauce, and a side of mozzarella sticks. Let it sit for a minute to lose the heat
Used to work in a chippy, wasn’t too hot on fish, but I got addicted to that meal (used to get one free one every shift)
To the point I wouldn’t even need to ask for it, sometimes when my boss sent me on my break, he already had it ready.
Mikey463@reddit
Cod and chips with a side order of jumbo battered sausage.

Probably very basic but lamb doner with chips, salt and vinegar, mint sauce and mayonnaise.
Worth mentioning though I'm in the black country so I also have orange chips, aka the best chips in the country.
atomicsiren@reddit
Fish mini mix.
It’s a small fish in a tray with chips, peas and gravy. The chippy’s regular portions are ridiculously large, so a mini mix is just enough and I don’t end up throwing half a ton of chips away.
hasimirrossi@reddit
The “Robbie Coltrane” was an off-menu special at L’Alba D’Oro in Edinburgh: double fish and chips, sausage, a slice of pizza and four Irn Brus (a meal, legend has it, that Coltrane once polished off while waiting for a taxi).
From an old Popbitch email.
Southernbeekeeper@reddit
There use to be a burger van in the commando training centre in Lymstone which did a captain kirk burger. It was a double cheese burger in a tray with two battered sausages to look like the enterprise and a load of chips in the space between.
Iwantedalbino@reddit
I forget exactly what’s in it but the Scooby Burger of Glaswegian folklore is a treat.
I’m paraphrasing from memory but it was essentially one of everything on the menu in a bun. So burger, cheeseburger, bacon, link sausage, square sausage, tattie scone, egg. The pro move was to eat while it was still half in the bag so anything falling out got caught in the brown bag and swirled in the leaking yolk. It started at the burger van on woodlands road but i introduced it to the one between uni and my flat so I didn’t have to walk that far for one.

Cod, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas or if a curry - chicken tikka pathia, sag paneer, mushroom rice and a garlic naan. Both my local places have portions big enough for me and my little girl to share. The curry place is so good and does that whole meal for a tenner
